When I shut off the motor on my new JCL250cc, it stinks like gas for several hours. I assume I need to change the fuel line and filter. Can someone tell me how to remove whatever panels I need to remove in order to do this? Thank you in advance. Ernie

Yeah, a couple screws and a bolt hold the side panel, then the belly pan is hooked on at the rear. Just pull it down and wedge a 2x4 to hold it and you'll see the filter by the right side of the tank.
But if it's new, why replace it? You may have vibrated the fuel drain screw loose, it's the wire wrapped hose from the bottom of the carb connected to the CVT, make sure the screw in the end is tight. Check your vapor recovery system line from the tank back to the charcoal cannister on the right side of the engine.
We are talking about a 257, n'est pas?

If you don't see any gas leaks anywhere then I would check the vapor recovery system as ce suggested. Replacing parts that are not leaking will not stop a gas smell. It sounds like a vapor problem.

My jcl mp250-a had a fule milage problem, it turned to be the fuel tank retainer on the tank side I ripped all the side panels off and filed the tank, mine is a slow seeping leak that ya do not really smell. when it gets warmer out Im pulling the tank, ya have to remove the cooling fan!, and fill it to see where it from , then use jb-weld to seal it.
