I was given a free universal muffler from a guy who ordered it and the header pipe won't fit my 157qmj. I ordered one that will fit and I'm curious to know what I need to properly install the exhaust. I have the muffler and the round clamps that go around it... I'm not sure if I need a bracket or how I'm supposed to attach the clamps to the scooter... I have a 2005 Diamo Tracer 150cc The stock exhaust has two bolt points that hold it to the side. I don't think these will work as they are not in the correct place. I've seen bracket and clamp kits for sale but if all I need is a bracket where can I get one? I don't know much about this so excuse my ignorance lol This is my scooter.

Universal is in the eye of the buyer.. there are about 10 different mufflers and support brackets... really need a picture of the new muffler...

You want to replace that exhaust? It's so cool! Oh well, eye of the beholder. Sprocket is exactly right, they make these universal exhausts but YOUR SCOOTER MAY VARY! Here's a performance exhaust I got about a year ago. You can see the bracket and strap that come with most of them:
And here's how the bracket bolted right on!
Nice huh? After I finally got enough spacers and grade eight bolts to mount the bracket the supplied strap kept breaking so I ended up with this homemade monstrousity. That's where the supplied strap is supposed to go, the entire back of the muffler hangs in space:
And here it is mounted on the scooter. You can see how the header pipe is badly discolored. I discovered this was due to the mounting flange on the pipe had some irregularities that prevented it from sealing causing a leak. I tried to flatten it to correct this but to no avail:
I ended up going back to the stock exhaust because I just couldn't deal with it anymore. I wouldn't trash your old exhaust getting it off, you may need it. Rich

So will I need to install the muffler and new header pipe first to see where I will need a spacer or bracket??
I don't know yet what angle the muffler will be...
Mine is the round type like yours and has the same type clamp. Your bracket is the second type of bracket that I have found online. The other is just a single piece with four holes in it.

Install the header pipe first, make sure you use an exhaust gasket. Then you can slip the muffler on and see where it's going to line up with the scooter. You shouldn't put a lot of stress on the header pipe getting it to line up, you need to adapt your mounting hardware if necessary. That bracket you have with four holes is probably a universal bracket designed to fit many configurations of bolt patterns. If you could get a couple solid bolts through it it might work. My bracket lined up with the bolts on the motor OK but it hit the swingarm. It was a giant PITA. Rich

No I don't have a bracket haha I'm trying to figure out which one I will need to mount everything properly.
It is cool outside this morning so I will try to get it figured out very soon.

Hi Mac .Welcome to the board. That exhaust looks like one for a 2 stroke with that expansion chamber. If that is a 2 stroke exhaust it won`t scavenge the exhaust gases from a 4 stroke properly.

I got everything fitted and hooked up. It sounds great too! I just need to find hardware to mount the strap to hold the muffler in place. After taking a closer look, I can just get a spacer and a bolt and use an existing mounting point. Should be pretty simple! Thanks for the help guys! (That's my other toy in the background )

That's a great looking exhaust, very nicely done. That's another nice toy you have in the background, you're on your way to a stable! Rich
