Shannon, you will not find a 9/16" to 1/4". The threaded end is a standard pipe thread. You will find it in either 1/2" to 1/4'' or 3/4"to 1/4". The end the hose goes on is called a hose barb.

Thanks Roy, I just got back from the auto parts store and found that out I bought the on/off fuel switch thing and some clamps. I brought the petcock and was lead back to where they had all the hoses in storage and I was holding the petcock up to them trying to guage and I then decided that I'll just bring the gas tank to the auto parts store when its out and clean and see what will fit on it right then and there I can also find what coupleing will fit to the hose I pick out and I'll bring the little hose with me for it to fit into. Luckily the auto parts store is only a 4 block walk for me

I went outside and the hidden outlet I found that is about 4' from my scooter on the building DOES work. YAY! Also I went out to put the on/off fuel switch into the line to see if it fit and as I disconnect the line from the fuel filter, fuel is FLOWING HARD out at me and the scooter is OFF. I had to bend and pinch it hard while cutting off a piece of hose, then installing the switch below the fuel filter w the other hand. Haha. So good thing I put it in, it doesn't know when to shut off. Sometimes it doesn't know when to make it flow and sometimes it doesn't know when to make it stop. Testy lil f**er! At least I have fuel flowing right now and I have it set to off. Looks like its time to start getting used to using that switch now From looking at the picture I may even shorten it another inch ( the whole set up ) once the big hose from the tank is in the picture. We will see.

I could be wrong but it looks like the filter is in backwards. The big end usually goes toward the carburetor. Look at it closely it should have an arrow on it pointing the direction of flow. Other than that it looks good.

Lmao. Thanks Roy, when I put it in I was like hmmm, which way is which? I'll go check it out. I went to get a key copied at the scooter shop and I was asking they guy if the chinese scooters have a lot of petcock problems. He said oh ya. I told him I just learned to install a manual shut off set up for mine instead of the petcock. He said you know how to do that? I said well I'm learning and I told him what I know how to do so far. He said the guys that work at the shops who assemble the scooters don't even know how to do most of those things and that once I learn a little more I should apply to the scooter shops since the mechanics are always very busy ( only one to a busy rental/sales shop), not licenced either and don't speak english. Sometimes it helps if there is an english speaking mechanic or mechanic's helper there. So, I MAY have a side job down the road doing this. There are more scooters than cars in my town Outside the major apartment complexes I've counted rows of over 100 scooters before all parked together

Good call on the filter Roy...it is backwards and needs to be zip tied! straightbangin you need to buy some 5 or 6 inch nylon zip ties at the Dollar store. Remove all those cheap metal spring clips holding your hoses and replace them with zip ties.. Pull them really tight with a pair of pliers...the manual shut off looks good. If you have a spare vacuum line now that used to go to the petcock you need to plug it... A wooden golf tee works well..and zip tie it too... Do every hose on the scooter and you will never have a fuel or vacuum leak...(unless the hose splits) Ever need to remove a hose, just cut the zip tie with a pair of nail clippers...I always carry a pair on my scoot

Wow really? The hoses fit on so tight I'm surprised I even need a clamp or a zip tie but if you say so I will take your word for it Good advice with pulling them tight w plyers. I wasn't sure how I would get them tight enough and I bought some clamps but I think I'm going to return them to the auto parts store when I get the bigger hose and coupling thing. They DO have zip ties at my dollar store. YAY. I always have nail scissors on me in my little bookbag thing. I'm not a purse kinda girl. If I don't have it straped to my back I'll leave it somewhere I can't ziptie the fuel hoes below the on / off switch yet because I usually have to inject fuel into the line 2x daily when the petcock decides it doesn't want to release any fuel but I will once everything is working normal again. The petcock is still in so I haven't messed with the vacuum line. I have to wait until the tank is empty again to remove it. I only put the manual shut off in to see if it fit then realized I need it now because sometimes the petcock wont shut off the fuel and its rushing down even when the scooter is off! Auto Parts Store List: Return clamps, get hose that goes from tank ( bring tank ), coupling that will fit smaller hose on to bigger hose (bring small piece of this hose), 3/16" vaccuum cap for intake manifold. I think thats it Not a horrible amount for parts, it could be worse, it could be car parts

You got the list of parts correct, piece of cake. I also just looked at your fuel filter and it is on arse BACKWARDS . The wider part of Fuel Filter always goes toward the carb. Good idea to just take the tank to the auto parts store and get the right hoses and parts the first time. If you give the guys a wink they will probably setup the connections from the tank to the Shutoff Fuel Filter and shutoff valve. Alleyoop

Thanks. Ya I fixed the filter LOL. Well seeing as how I have to ask for the hose they need to get from the back in spanish and the fact that 90% of the men in south beach are gay, I don't think the wink will help. They will prob ask if I have something in my eye. LMAO.

Nope, its all south beach, my best friend who is gay is coming down from NY in October. I told him he is going to be walking into a gay rainbow candy land. He is excited. On gay pride day ( mid april each year ) people write " honk if you are gay " on their cars and let me tell you, ive never heard so much honking all over the beach in my life! I have lived here for about 2 yrs and I think I've seen about 8 straight guys since i moved. I love the keys. I'm hoping to settle down there someday

Yes, the keys are really nice, like it better than any other place EXCEPT try and find some straights. The only straights I think are the Vacationers but they leave you alone and are a riot at the bars. Alleyoop
