Hi Troops, My Crankshaft Oil Seal on the Variator side blew out and oil was all over the place. I ordered the oil seals from Scrappy they come in a set of 4 two appear to be the same size for the Variator and I put one in, it is holding and no more oil.
TWO QUESTIONS: 1. BUT I they are all rubber, is that the way they are supposed to be? Or do you know of some better seals? In the package it looks like Two seals are the same size for the Variator side.
2. Also anyone know how to easly take out the seals Man I struggled take it out. I used two tiny screw drivers the ones you use to tighten your glasses IF YOU WHERE THEM(HAHA). Alleyoop

Alley, might try nappa for a set with a steel O.D. An oil seal puller for auto's might be to big. Small engine tool suppliers have smaller seal pullers. I have used small sheet metal screws and a pair of vise grips. Also a pick set with a hooked pick works good. Just be careful not to scratch the bore, a small amount of silicon in the bore helps to seal it if you do.

Thanks, The motor is fine, it happened before I went for a ride thank goodness. I pulled my car out and pulled the trike in its place inside the garage and checked the oil level(I ALWAYS DO) and then started it up while I put on my helmet. Then I see oil coming out from under my CVT. I turned it off right away and not all the oil came out anyways. And found the problem. Thanks for the tips on getting seal out, yes a thin piece with a slight hook on the end would would wonders(HEHE). Alleyoop

Ok Troops, Sprocket mentioned that a HONDA has seals that fit the GY6 engines.. they are a bit thicker but work... Stock seals are 19.8x30x5mm.... Honda part number 91201 - KCW - 880 19.8x30x7mm.... So I googled for the seals and found the HONDA Oil Seal and I just ordered 4 at $2.11 each plus $1.75 shipping. Alleyoop www.powersportsplus.com/parts/detail/honda/HP-91201-KCW-880.html

Well today It is pretty nice out and pulled the trike out and let it warm up and took off. Got about 1/8 of a mile and my rpms are climbing and slipping. Pulled off to the side and oil is dropping from the CVT. Turned around and nursed it home. Pulled the Oil stick to check the oil level and it was low. Pulled the CVT cover off and oil was all over the place. The Damn Crank seal was leaking, so took everything off cleaned out the cvt area degreased the belt clutch and variator. Then I struggled getting the damn seal out AGAIN. Put a new seal in and put everything back and started it up and I hear a funny sound.
DUMB crap I FORGOT TO PUT the oil Plug back on when I first tested it since I knew I would have to add some oil. OIL GOT THROWN ALL OVER THE PLACE(HAHA). I mean it flew 6 feet got that crap all over my tools and workbench on the floor on my tire and fender WHAT A MESS.
crap happens to the best of use. It was more work cleaning the oil than fixing the damn Trike. Hope I don't do that agian. Alleyoop
