You can google for the batteries here is one that is a 7A your size with 90ccas. The higher CCAs you can find the better. Just have to worry about it being 7amps or 9amps and the right size. Any higher AMPS like a 10A or 12A or 14A the charging system on our scoots will not be able to handle it. Alleyoop www.batterystuff.com/powersports-batteries/sYTX7A-BS.html

Thanks. That's the plan. I've been squirting gas in there for about 3 weeks now when the petcock wasn't supplying gas. Hair dye bottles work great for it I found , and they are cheap too

I pulled mine out to charge it again ( charging now ). It takes about 1.5 hrs to charge and then it shuts off when its fully charged. It is 12v / 7AH and its 6" long, 3.5" wide and 3.75" tall. It doesn't say anywhere on it what the CCAs are. Im not sure if the AH and CCAs are the same thing or not or if they can be like convered from one to another. I think I heard that somewhere but I have no idea.

CCA is only important if you live where I do in Canada .. it is a measure of the batteries capacity when very cold...it is meaningless in Florida
The AH is the figure you need 7AH is OK for that scooter

Thanks Sprocket. I just don't understand why my battery when fully charged can't hold a charge for more than like 3 days now. I mean the scooter & the battery is only 2.5 mo old with about 300 miles on it. It is STILL charging 2 hrs later so it must have been worn all the way down again. I doubt I can find one with more AH but that will still fit in that tiny little spot where it has to go (6" long x 3.5" wide x 3.5" tall) I live on a small island that I stay on. Its only 20 blocks by 10 blocks so I don't have to drive that far to get where I have to get to when I run my errands so I'm starting it a lot. I may go from home, to laundromat, to store, to bank, back to laundromat, to park, etc. and they are all very close to eachother. Too bad I can't plug the charger in outside at least, I have to remove it and charge it inside. No outlets outside If the only problem is that this battery wants to run down quick and other than that all problems are solved. I can deal with it now that I have a charger.

Yours must have a larger battery box in than mine because mine won't fit a 6 inch long battery.

Wow, really? I feel like mine has the smallest battery box ever. If you can't fit 6" into the box, its gotta be a tiny box! LMAO! ;P

Hahaha and used gear oil I charged the battery up, put it in. Started it no problem, it ran fine, I ran errand, started it again no problem and it ran fine coming home. So it SEEMS the new petcock is working. I think if it starts to give me the same crap again starting I'm going to charge the battery yet again but also replace the spark ( even though I shouldn't need to, I just did a month ago ) but with the petcock problem before perhaps it could have gotten fouled from too much gas etc. If it happens again, after the new spark is replaced ( if I have to ) then I may have to figure out something new to do as far as the battery. So that is the game plan

Fantastic!! Great to hear it is running good so far with the new Petcock. And we now know that the Bendix is good after seeing it working in the Video and that the only problem is a weak battery not able to turn it over fast enough. But a better battery with more CCAs will help that situation, because they have more Cranking power and hold the charge better. Batteries do not like Heat so if you can once in a while pick some long stretchs of road that you can ride on say 10 minutes one way and back for about 20 mintues it will charge up the battery pretty good. Heh. I can try to run it longer but it takes 3 min to drive from one end of the beach to the other so I'll be doing laps back and forth Also the speed limit is 30 here and lots of redlights and stop signs so I can't really take it on a long stretch. I can't get to the places with long stretches on a 50cc scooter as they are not allowed to go over the bridges to get to these areas. I'm wondering how many CCAs mine has. It doesn't say on it and I'm wondering if I can get one with more w more CCAs to even FIT in the battery box. Hmmmm. I just realized my battery says 12V / 7AH and its supposed to come with 5AH evosales.com/pd_fuel_efficient_vehicle_100_mpg.cfmThe last one I had only had a battery with 4AH and it didn't give me any crap until 2,000 miles. Go figure

Well I would not put in a battery less than 7A, 5am and 4a do not have a hell of a lot of power. And if you have to crank it over a lot those 4-5a batteries will deplete really quick. That is why I was saying maybe a 9Amp if you could find one that would fit, but if not and your going to get one get a 7Amp with as many CCAs as you can find. Some are only rated at 30,60 etc.. I do not believe they would put in good batteries in these things, they put in the cheapest batteries they can get and marginal at best. I have a brand new one ready to put in mine its a 9Amp, mine is the orginal that came with the Trike back in March 2009. But now that I have a 62mm Big Bore Kit and a 60mm Stroker Crank, that little battery in there is struggling to turn the motor over which the compression is now about 200. I will hit the start button and sometimes it will Groan on me but I hit it again and it catchs. It all depends where the Piston is at the time I hit the start button if it is on the Compression stroke it will groan until it gets by that stroke SORT OF GETTING a HEAD START as they say. So the 9Amp has more power To be able to handle turning over the Motor With more Compression. Alleyoop

Thanks. That makes sense. So 12V/9AH would be better if I can find one that will fit? How many CCAs would be good? So far I haven't seen the amount of CAAs listed in the battery ads but I'll keep looking. No idea what mine has it doesn't say. Wow I'm actually finding some that would fit: www.ebay.com/itm/Powerstar-Replacement-Battery-APC-BK400-12V-9AH-/160620513030?pt=US_Batteries&hash=item2565ba8706Ive never used one with those little tabby thingees for where you connect the cables on. it the same? Just a screw goes through the hole after you put the connecters on and then fastens to a bolt under it? I'm used to the " cube " type connection thing like this Can I damage my scooter using something as high as 9AH? Can I go higher if it will fit? ooo some dont even have a hole in the tabby things. how in the world do u hook those up to the scoot?

These types of batteries are not designed to be used in motor vehicle applications. They are used in the electronics industry for back up power supplies. While they may "work", they would probably wear out pretty quickly. They are made to put out a little power over a long period of time, not the short bursts of high power we use for starting engines.
