So now I'm having another problem and its the same problem I had with my last scooter. This is the link for the problem before, and in the first post a guy posted a video of the prob. Mine is doing the same thing again. When I try to start it, it hisses and won't turn over. scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=150cc&action=display&thread=3001Last time we figured it was the battery since after I would have to kick start it but once it was warmed up it would start with the starter button no problem. I bought a new battery, installed it, charged it up and it worked great for 3 weeks then the problem came back. I kept kick starting it until the kick start broke and then I ended up getting rid of it because it had other problems too. I learned to not rely on the kick start because you will just wear it out and break it. The kid who originally posted and also posted on youtube, well I looked through both threads and I didn't see where he posted about what the problem is after all. Any ideas? It just started doing it when I tried to start it this morning. I tried 3x then had to kick start it. Drove it for 5 min, parked it at a store, came out and it started fine, drove it 5 more pin, parked it at another store, came out and started fine. With the last scooter as long as it had been running within 3 or 4 hrs it was fine to start w the starter button.

Sounds to me like the battery isn't getting fully charged by the scooter electrical system or it is getting drained by something.
When you run it for a bit the battery comes up to full charge and it starts again...
The hissing is just the compression escaping from the valves... Check your plug to make certain it is tight and not hissing from there.

It's hissing!? Did you look under the bucket and see if a snake was trapped there? Try this:

You need to buy yourself a multimeter... they are like $15. Then you need to check the voltage across a fully charged battery with the scooter running at about 1/3 throttle...
With the meter set at VOLTS DC you should get a reading of about 13.5 VOLTS. If it is less than 13 volts the battery is not getting charged properly... and other things need to need looked at...

OK the hiss is different than I first thought. I suspect you have flooded the engine and that is why it won't start. Remove the spark plug and see if it is wet...
If the plug looks wet then leave it out of the engine for a few hours...so the engine dries out and the gas evaporates.. then replace the plug and try to knick-start it...
I honestly don't know what the sound is...hopefully Alley or others will know

It was working fine yesterday and when I went to start it this morning it wouldn't start. So I don't know how I would have flooded the engine. It could be from the petcock not working properly that I still have to replace. Maybe instead of it not giving me gas like the usual probem, it just wouldn't shut off and that's how it flooded it. Sorry if that just sounded snotty, Im just super stressed. I've heard this sound before, as in my first post some other kid had the same prob but I never saw a solution to his issue either. Same thing happened w my last scooter ( bought the same model again ) I sold that one to a mechanic instead of dealing with it. I'm going to take the spark out and leave it out for the night and see if that works. Thanks for the suggestion and tring to help. I should prob finally replace the petcock tomorrow seeing as how I can't drive it anyway

Well to me it sounds like the Bendix is not engageing the Gear to turn over the engine. I do not hear the actual engine turning over just the whirring. Take the Cvt cover off and check the Gears by the Variator.
If you can take a picture by the Variator there is a Gear on top that the STARTER pushs out and engages the Teeth on the Fan Pulley. That is what I think is not engageing to turn the Crankshaft. Alleyoop

Ya its not turning over and I read somewhere it could be the bendix. Do you think it could have come loose and that's why its not catching? or maybe the teeth have been ground off on it? I don't understand how all this can go wrong so quick. Is the CVT cover the thing the kick start is attached to? Does this mean I have to take the kick start apart to get the cover off? It kinda looks like it in my vid. .
