I'm having an after thought , I'm less than 100% if you can upgrade your stator to 11pole and 7pin regulator that will give you more than enough power to charge your battery even on short trips and frequent startups . I think the flywheel and stator mount the same on the 50cc as the 150cc . I have done this to one of my 150cc it has been trouble free since . If anyone has a stator from a 50cc and can tahe some measurements I can tell you if it will work .

Hey tvnacman. The battery that I had that I put the acid in was for my last scooter, not this one. I didn't have a charger then so I added the acid, waited about 45 min, installed it and then drove it for 35 min to charge it up. The battery I have now is the one that came with THIS scooter which is ( along with the scooter ) 2.5 mo old and has about 300 miles on it. Thahnks for your kind words. Yes theft is a problem here, I live in a beautiful place w rich homes and all but GOd forbid you lock your bicycle outside to a pole and it will be stripped of all its parts within 15 min flat in broad day light. Example: When I left to walk to the store this bike was fine, 20 min later when I walked back past it, it looked like this: Can't believe it still had handle bars, usually they dont. Scumbag people. uggg. Solar chargers sounds like a terrific idea, ill have to look into one in the future. Thanks. I'll def see what I have to do with the battery. At this point its just deciding WHICH one to get next

Ya I can read a map Cool on the battmart.com I've been using ebay for parts. I'm trying to figure out a good brand/AH to go with, or CCAs but it doesnt seem to show those in the ads.

Well I'm putting the battery issues on hold for now. I know I may need a new one, until them I can just charge it and luckily I just found an outlet outside right by my scooter hidden in the bushes on my building. So I can charge it w/o having to take it out now. I just have to stay out there with it working on other stuff and cleaning the scoot while it charges so it doesn't get stollen. I need to put the battery issue on hold because the F**kin' petcock i replaced is not doing its thing either. Im beginning to think that this scooter and an automatic petcock were not meant to be. I guess I'm going to have to install a manual line that I have to flip the thing on when I start and stop my scooter. I can live with that to stop dealing with this current problem. I'm just heated I have to take all the faring back off, wait for the gas tank to run down, inject fuel all the time between now and then and then have to take the whole tank out again and THEN put the new manual system in. Sigh. So I'm leaving this thread for now to go back to the petcock thread. Which is here www.scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=150cc&thread=4761&page=17

Wow, what a bummer. I would just drill out the petcock an install a manual valve in the fuel line. This is how I have mine mounted. Its not hard to reach when the plastic is on and can't be seen unless you look under the plastic. I got it at the local hardware store for about $5 But an auto parts store might have them also. Roy

There should be a number on the batt or leters and numbers . Take a pic and post it . Forget about bigger , if your charging system is good you should be ok. John

I agree John... check your vacuum hoses and the connection to the intake elbow...there must be a good amount of vacuum on that hose... when you run the starter you should be able to feel the suction...

Guys here is what she said after it died and got back home:
I even sucked the vac line with the gas line hanging in a bottle and no gas would come out. It seems I am going to have to take the whole damn thing apart again and install a manual set up. Sigh. Back to the drawing board.

It is possible she is losing vacuum at the manifold. I had one on my other scoot that had some rubber still in it. It was working like a little valve. At wot it would suck the little piece in and close the little hole. I cleaned it out with a drill bit. She said that she tested the petcock by applying a vacuum an no fuel flowed out.

I hear ya but I detached the hose from the mainfold and sucked from there, and sucked hard. LOL. Nothing. I have tested it this way when the petcock was working ( it works on and off, both the old and the new one it seems ) and I have sucked it and fuel flowed right out when it was working. Check out www.scooterdoc.proboards.com/inde....ad=4761&page=17 for more petcock chat, gonna keep this thead for the non starting issue
