One of the 2 exhaust manifold bolts fell out today. I am going to find it. I know where it was. I get it I hope the threads inside the engine there are still fine as just the bolt is stepped. If it is fine I'll just get a new one. If not I get a slightly bigger stud. How do I get it in there?

You can order new studs from scrappydogs, they are very common.
They just screw into the head. DID IT BREAK or just came out. Or did the NUT JUST COME OFF and the STUD is still there.

Stud & nut came out together, stud is badly stripped

Lots of people swap those studs out for metric stainless steel cap screws and flat and locking washers...Take the old one to an auto place or fastener place and they can match it up for you...

You should also replace the header gasket... with the
full face type...

Um, the bolt came out, completely, it's stripped completely. I just drilled out & re-tapped hole, then the re-tapping tool broke off in hole, so now I have to replace the $@#&ing head. I don't want to do this.

I just put in the correct exhaust gasket in, & just one bolt, runs fine.

Ok, it still has exhaust leak, the exhaust is too strong, it pushed the whatever away enough, it still is acting up. I am curious. Is it possible that something gets hot and won't run aster I shut it off after it is fully warm? Think experts think. I can't figure this out.

Could fuel & vacuum hoses do all this?

Hate to tell you but the FLANGE leaking is sucking in air and that will cause a lot of problems.
You are going to have to either take it somewhere to get it taped to a bigger size to fit a bolt in there or have a helicoil put in or a new head. It will never run right with a Header Leak.

Running right isn't the problem, it won't restart after getting hot after driving it. Can it be the hoses?

No man, I wish it was the hoses for your sake. Air is getting into the head and messing with the exhaust valve. It may already be damaged and is not sealing. It won't start because the valve stem length keeps changing due to the temp differentials. You're just going to have to suck it up and get a new head or engine. Rich

Might try setting the valve gaps...but I agree with Rich and Lefty...one bolt aint going to do it and you may have toasted the exhaust valve...

Here is what I'm doing. On monday, federal holiday, I'm replacing all vacuum & fuel hoses, & I am applying presure from underneith the muffler fitting, to make it snug, then j b weilding it to the nice tapper bit, after that is cured, I'm using an exhaust sealer to close down any left over gap. That should seal it forever.

Na.. the JB weld will burn off in a couple of minutes if there is hot gases escaping...
