You ACTUALLY believe what they say on the package!!! ? Try it and see...you might be lucky. Really depends on where the hole is and how big it is...

I'm just hoping the exhaust only gets to 400-500 degrees fahrenheit.

it will take about an hour to pull the engine from the scooter , with the engine out and on a bench , you might I said might be able to drill the tap out and try to retap the hole .
forget about the JB weld and others!!!

I couldn't even scratch the bit. I'm going to put oven thermometer on it hot still running tonight & see how high temperature gets. If it's under I'm j b welding, if it's over, I'll get my uncle to just weld it out right.

The head is aluminum... does your uncle know how to weld aluminum with a Mig or Tig? I think you should try a Heli-coil first www.emhart.com/brands/heli-coil

you could have taken common alum that is used in cooking/canning mix with water and dissolve the broken tap. it takes some times a day to do depending on tap size.
I have ruined many aluminum projects before I found this out. I am a member of several machining forums and they have all recommended using ALUM to dissolve a tool steel tap broken off in aluminum. carbide is the only material besides diamond that will cut tool steel like the tap was made of. a carbide drill will snap off when it contacts the sharp edges of a tap. welding will distort the head more than likely. at this point it sounds like your only out is to buy a new head if it no longer starts. john

No it still starts & runs, I just couldn't get it to not leak exhaust at exhaust manifold. Bolt missimh & all. It still runs. I'm replacing all the hoses monday. Oil change too, can't wait. I applied the j b weld, & the inferno muffler/exhaust repair stuff. Hope it seals exhaust. I would like to get as many months as possible out of scooter, save up $, get a new one at some point. Sell or, use as spare parts.

one thing that we need to remember if using alum to dissolve a tap is any other steel or iron that is wet with the mixture will also dissolve too. good luck with the jb, it is good stuff but I think your use on the exhaust is beyond its capability's. muffler goop can handle heat but has no strength. also I would assume that hole you tried to retap does not go all the way through and has a bottom. in that case you need more than one tap to re-thread it, a bottom tap. and you can not force one, they break off! john

It still doesn't want to restart after running it then shutting it off, then 5 mins later trying to start again, but instead of 30 mins, now it's like 10 mins. Yea
