ya raford thinks there could be an air leak of some sort and i dont doubt there COULD be one. im mean the scooter was running like crap before when it WAS running. the sun is starting to set and its mosquito central outside. ive been bit 5x already so i covered up the scooter for the night. it should be cool for a week or so ( 65-70) ya thats cool for here LOL. so im more likely to want to work on the scoot. ya alley raford was saying that too, that i could turn the carb and get the bottom of and try to do that w out taking it all out. I just hate that damn scary carb cleaner. it took paint off my driveway and i dont want it to take paint off the scooter. maybe if i spray it with the carb inside a few plastic bags it will help shield stuff. i know it will eat through the plastic pretty quick but at least it could help. I know i just need to take things one at a time. i think i got frustrated because i spent all day working on this on and off and i feel like i wasted my day, that and my dog doesnt understand why shes not the center of attention today and shes bugging me to go play / walk, etc. LOL. Im agreeing that should be the next step. It does seem like a fuel issue at this point. Hey at least the plates / belts dont sound like they are sticking / locking up. lol w my luck that will happen again tomorrow

Yea if you take it off or just flip it over Spraying into the pilot jet and see if spray comes out the front of the carb. Also you can take the FUEL RATIO screw out and Spray into that and see if spray comes out the pilot jet or the front as well. Then put the screw back in until it stops and back it out 2 1/2 turns then spray into the pilot jet again and see if spray comes out the front. If it doesn't turn the screw another turn and spray again you want to see spray coming from the tiny pilot jet holes in front. It could be the Fuel Ratio is blocking to much of the passage.
But have a nice quiet evening and maybe tomorrow will be a better day. Alley

Well the THREE screws on the actual bowl definitely have to come out But I could not see the two additional screws in question which look like the PUMP part. If those two screws go into the TOP half of the ACTUAL Carb then yes they also have to come out. If they are screwed into only the BOWL part then no. The Fuel Ratio Screw screw you can leave it in for now BUT if when you spray into the PILOT JET and nothing comes out from in front of the Carb then take it out. NOW be carefull inside the Screw there is a tiney rubber O-ring a Tiney Washer and a Spring in that order. So if you take the screw out have the carb on a Towel or something so you do not loose them IF they come out. Also take a picture of the BUTTERFLY in front I want to see how open it is. Alley

Thanks. Oh God I hate the word " spring " or "cable " both scare me. LOL. Thanks, I was wondering if there was a washer or spring or some other stuff behind the A/F screw. Ill leave it alone at the moment. Im not sure what the butterfly is. This? Wow I just realized that looks way too " open " . I think. Like if I turn the idle screw it wouldnt do anything since the bottom plate that the screw is supposed to press into doesnt even touch it. Am I right? If so, how do I get more cable? Its so taunt. If I press on the cable it will give me about 1/4 inch give.

The one on the left is the PILOT JET smaller the one on the right is your MAIN JET. Stick the THIN straw from the Cleaner into the PILOT JET and spray and see if Spray comes out the Front of the CARB by the tiny holes by the butterfly. If no spray comes out Then Take Unscrew the Pilot jet and Clean it making sure it is NOT CLOGGED. Then Spray inside the Pilot Jet hole and make sure the Passage is not clogged and spray DOES come out by the butterfly. Do the same thing to the Main Jet. Alley

your cable is pulled as tight as it can be. Mine has only 4 or 5 threads showing on the left of the locknut.

Here is where spray should come out when you Spray into the MAIN JET the right one in your picture: Here is where spray should come out when you Spray into the PILOT JET the left one in your picture: If you take the Fuel Ratio Screw out this is what is in there IN THAT ORDER: Also usually the O-Ring and Washer will not come out you have to hit it against your palm for them to fall out.

A lot of people just unscrew the jet and hold it up to a light to see if they see light

Yes your cable is messed up the IF YOU LOOK inside the Front I BET THE BUTTERFLY IS OPEN QUITE A BIT IT SHOULD BE PRETTY MUCH CLOSED: NO WONDER THAT SUCKER DOES NOT WANT TO START. Alley

Ok so the smaller jet on the left is the pilot and the bigger jet on the right (in the pic) is the main. Im asking because it looks bigger to me on the right. Did I mention I hate carb cleaner. I just washed it off my hands, arms, neck and chin. LOL. I always stand back because I know it can spray back at ya but I always get it on myself.
I sprayed it in the smaller hole on the left and it sprayed back on me, didn't come out the front of the carb. Im not sure if its because its clogged or because the straw that comes with the cleaner doesnt fit right into the hole like it does with the bigger jet on the right. I tried a couple times, just sprayed all over.
I sprayed the bigger hole / jet on the right and it came out the BACK of the carb. Like where the air filter thingee goes.

The 1 on the left is the pilot jet, it also has the smallest hole and is most likely to clog.
