Isnt gas the same thing as starter fluid? The starter fluid like you put on fires? Is that safe to squirt in a scooter?

John I tried holding down the start button longer a couple times, it just kept reving but didnt want to turn over. I know the starter fluid is an old skool method people have used in car carbs. Just wasnt sure if it was a safe old skool method. I tried to start it again just now. Same thing. Just keeps reving, won't turn over. I cant for the life of me understand how brand new scooters and brand new scooter parts can have so many problems.

QUALITY IS OUR MOST IMPORTANT PRODUCT (YEA RIGHT). There is not much quality control in the chinese factories don't forget they probably get paid a buck an hour if that. That is why a WHOLE scoot only costs 700 bucks. Now for the dealer to make a profit at $700.00 what do you think he paid for it? They paid anywhere from 250-400 for each depending on how many he bought. If they buy them in volume 5 or more at a time the cheaper they get them.
Just to give you an example, if you buy CARBS at volume the dealers pay anywhere from $10.00-$12.00 dollars apiece.

Sprocket, it is not the Bendix it is turning the motor over it is just not fireing UNLESS she squirts gas straight into the intake then it starts and dies. Alleyoop

So we have fuel in the bowl, but it's not getting to the intake manifold because of a possibly clogged pilot jet. If the pilot jet was working we'd at least be able to idle. Frustration is approaching dangerously high levels. I wish the next time you try to start it you'd keep cranking it. As soon as it tries to start you let off the button. What did you do with the other end of the hose you connected to the intake manifold. It's properly stopped up I hope. Intake manifold to carb clamp is tight?

Take the hose loose shoot some gas in it and take a cork from a wine bottle and use that to plug the hole just to see what happens next time.

I think you may be pulling air in the hole you use to prime the carb and bypassing the carb. Investigate that theory while I go for my bicycle ride.

I dont know alley, i just know the scooter dealerships sell and rent out a lot of these scooters and I see them parked all over the beach. Not sure if they are dead or alive.
Oh frustration levels are to cracking some wine right now raford. Ive tried twice to keep cranking it. Like held down the button and throttle for about 10 seconds ( to the point of it almost starting to loose battery power) It just kept reving. No turn over or even attempt to turn over. Ya the hose to the intake manifold is on tight and the hose that did go to the petcock that was the vac line has a vac cap on it so yes its stopped up.
Im supposed to re-register my scooter for $50 at the end of January. If I dont by 10 days after that its a $20 fee. I just called motor vehicle and told them my scooter is not running and what if i dont re-register it until October or when ever I can get it fixed. They said its still just a $20 fee. I wanted to make sure they were not going to hit me with the " new wheels fee " over again. In FL when you get a new car ( new new or bought it from someone) so new to YOU, you have to pay motor vehicle $250! Such BS. Well knowing I can re-register super late for just $20 extra makes me feel like im not against a time clock with getting this thing fixed. (trying to decide to keep or sell by the time the registration is due) I could shove it in the shed and hope to meet a mechanic friend in the future. LOL! Another crappy thing about FL motor vehicle is you have to re-register your vehicle on your birthday each year. Its good for a year and its about $50. So... if you buy a car on October 1st and pay $50 for the registration for the year , but your birthday is November 1st. You have to pay it all over again on Nov 1st!
I put a new spark in just for the hell of it. On my last scooter when it had 2 different issues, each time I had a new spark put in and it made it start right up like a new scooter for a month so i thought id try. i have 4 new sparks so why not. The spark i took out didnt look great. After replacing the spark same issue. If im going to have the scooter off for how long _____ min. or ____ hrs. should I turn off the fuel switch?

He thinks you have a Vacuum link is what he is saying I THINK.
But since it is gravity feed it would still start it would run crappy if you had an air leak that bad.
But your problem is NO GAS is being sucked into the intake. Now you could just try something quicker and that is shut the Valve off and drain the bowl of fuel. Then just pull the carb from the MANIFOLD and get a towel and turn over enough for you to take the bowl off and SPRAY INTO THE PILOT JET and get the SPRAY TO COME out in front of the CARB.
This way you won't have to mess with the Throttle cable.
Then put it back together and back into the INTAKE MANIFOLD nice and tight and give that a shot. Alley
