i have a china 150 scooter all my lights work head lights brights brake lights stop lights all lights work except blinkers not on dash nor front back nor arrows on mirror like i said all lights work except blinkers i check fuse can find any thing but they did on saturday please help me someone asap as i need to ride it please send lots of replys to help figure this out year 2011 dont know what name of china scooter is yet ERIC 586-292-2979

First question DO THEY COME ON but DO NOT BLINK? If they don't come on then check the wireing going to the Turn Signal Switch and the wires going to the FLASHER. If they do come on BUT DO NOT BLINK then your Flasher is bad.

The black wire is hot when you turn your key on. When you hit your turn signal switch to either side the relay (flasher) simply sends an intermittant burst of electricity to whichever side you pushed the switch via the grey wire. I think your switch is bad. Rich

i went and check a light tester to switch blue orange and gray with key on no power to any of three wires why

can someone help when i turn key on three wires at blinker switch blue orange and grey when key is turned on are any three wires suppose to be hot or not because all three are not

When the key is turned on you should have about 20v DC at the grey wire at the turn signal switch. You should have about 12v DC at the black wire to the flasher. You do not need to disconnect any wires to measure this, simply ground your black lead on any good frame spot or bolt and touch the red probe to whatever wire you wish to test set at DC auto voltage. I'd like you to do something to test if your flasher is working. First touch the red probe to the grey and black of the flasher while it is plugged in with the key on. You should get 20v DC on the grey and 12v DC on the black. Then set your multi for continuity and touch the green, you should get a tone indicating a good ground wire. If all of this works you know you have proper juice to the system. Now inspect both rear turn signal light elements and make sure they're intact. Unplug the front turn signals and hit the hazard button. If your flasher relay doesn't click and the rear turn lights don't flash you've got a bad flasher. If you can get the multimeter probes onto the contacts on the back of the turn switch, check continuity from the grey to the blue then the orange and try the switch in both postitions. If you don't get a tone from both wires the switch is bad. Rich

If you can get your turn switch out you can test it directly. If you can get your probes on the back of the connectors you can do the same tests. The grey supplies electricity from the flasher, the blue wire is for the right side, and the orange is for the left. OL on the multi shows no circuit (open) when the turn signal switch is off, and an ohm reading indicates a circuit and a tone sounds with the switch turned on:

well guys i think i have a problem i uplug flasher check with key on on blk wire i get 12volts green ground nothing and grey going into wireharness nothing not 20 volts like you said switch ckecked good now what

OK, let's do this one step at a time. First we will check the voltages to the flasher. We're starting from scratch here so forget everything up to this point. Ground your multimeter black probe with an alligator test clip to a good frame ground or bolt like this:

LEAVE YOUR FLASHER PLUGGED IN! Now we will test a few voltages by carefully working the red probe into the back of the flasher harness between the plastic and metal wire connectors on each of the three wires like this:

Turn on your key and set your multimeter to autorange DC. Let's do the black wire first, it's the hot from the ignition so you should get around 12v DC:

Now, I had forgotten this next part, it's been a while since I did this. When you first turn your key on and test the grey wire WHILE IT'S PLUGGED INTO THE HARNESS you'll get a high voltage that can start as high as 20v DC. Then it starts to drop rapidly like this:

And finally settles out around 12v DC. I don't know why this happens, it may just be characteristic of the bikes I've did this on:

So those are normal tests so far, you should get around 12v DC on the black and grey while they're plugged into the flasher and the key is on. Now you want to check and see if you have a good ground to the frame. Set your multimeter to continuity and test the green ground wire in the same fashion as the others, you should get a tone and a low ohm reading indicating a good ground circuit:

Now before we start analyzing anything run those tests and tell me what you get. Rich
