Be careful where that shiny aftermarket muffler is pointing.

is this werk of arrt due for exposition at any arrts institute? this is my aftermarket muffler that now has 1300 miles on it. a bit loud but for 9.95 or what ever it cost it works fine after I jetted the carb.

is this werk of arrt due for exposition at any arrts institute? No exposition for this one, I'm afraid. I had actually run with the muffler for a few months (a few thousand miles), with nothing more than some clouding of the clear plastic. Then one day while riding, I got home and noticed the melted mess. Bizarre. Though, now to think of it, that may have been the day I cracked the exhaust stud out of the head. Maybe it was just running that much hotter because of that? I'm going to replace the rear turn signals with these LED units: this is my aftermarket muffler that now has 1300 miles on it. a bit loud but for 9.95 or what ever it cost it works fine after I jetted the carb. I'm seriously considering a B&S muffler, at least as an experiment, before I invest in a new muffler. I have a few ideas. We'll see if it pans out.

The reason I posted my muffler is that I believe it may be a little less hard on those exhaust studs in the head. I know there is a mount directly infront of the muffler but there is only less than a pound hanging off that mount................time will tell. I like those leds, I will be ordering some bulbs soon. the thing that I dont like on mine is the tail/stop light is behind a kind of amber looking lens and it should have been red. I would love to find a way to replace that lens with red. I have never been stopped by a cop with it but I can't say I would blame him with it amber and all. I am from the old way of thought, fire engines should be red and so should brake lights. john

Josh, I love that pic of the melted light and turned it into my desktop background. I call it "weeping scooter". And John, I also truly love the minimalist look of that muffler. It really exemplifies "less is more". I'm curious, did you have to upjet or downjet (are those real words?). Rich

it took several tries on jetting. it is bigger and do not remember how big. I do remember I drilled it too big then soldered it shut and drilled it smaller. was about 2 1/2 years ago. have a uni filter on it too. was looking at my scooter log book and in those 2 1/2 years I have put 8400 total miles on the 3 scooters going no where, just local running around. my legs and back get hurting after an hour on anything. Oh that scooter in pic is on my redneck front lift. john

If you're going to use it as a background, do you want the original instead of the down-scaled PhotoBucket one? ;D

Oh that scooter in pic is on my redneck front lift. john [/b][/quote] HAR! I noticed, I do the same thing except I load up the trunk with some barbell weights. That's the only thing I use them for anymore! RichIf you're going to use it as a background, do you want the original instead of the down-scaled PhotoBucket one? ;D Why yes I would like the original, you could e-mail it to rich_carman@hotmail.com or whatever is convenient. Thanks, Rich

I can' believe you took that off! Umm.... I do need a functioning turn signal. However, it is definitely being kept as a souvenir.
