Alley since yours has had all the work what would be the results with this variator and the gears with out the stroker and bore upgrade. Seems to me it would keep the little torky gy-6 more stable and at the same time give the inceases in speed most are looking for. Opinion please.

Ncredleg, PM TVNACMAN you probably will pay less than I DID. It is a 107mm Variator which will fit the 150s, that is the largest you can fit. The OEM they come with are usually about 1/2 inch in diameter smaller. the 107mm measures 4 1/2 inchs across so measure yours, it will probably come in just a hair over 4 inchs. Alleyoop Thanks for the link, Alley.

just an FYI:
I was able to tune a gy6 150 to a top speed to 76 mph on the i 95 ( i reached this speed while drafting a 18 wheeler through nh) to get here i modified the exhaust, took out the egr system and evap system, also i upgraded the gearing, the roller weights to 14 grams, also i did the carb.
I would not reccommend that though, these machines are not made for reliability or durabilty, if you want to go fast you need to buy a 250 and get a honda, chinese scooters are real POS and you will only regret trying to make it work
stay away from chinese, on monday im filing a suit against the people who made mine for the pain i went through, though my story is somewhat unique

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. This is too funny. Who was the comedian who said, "You can't cure stupid". Sue for what? That the scooter didn't have an auto arm to slap you on the head when you rode it faster than it was designed for? You violated your warranty when you did all the above mentioned mods and gearing change. You know Baja will want their real experts to examine the thing in formulating their defense?

can we have a native "new yokka" like you examine it, then we can tell baja they lost the case, because a IDIOT did the research for them.

WE obviously need someone who isn't a Mainah to do it. You see the difference is here in New York we're smart enough to know the law. In Maine, where the Bushes are from, things like the law aren't important. We had the Roosevelts here. Would you like to compare the Presidencies of our first families versus yours?
And if I'm an idiot why is my Chinese scooter running perfectly with 6,000 miles and yours is shot to crap?

Oh, and you can check with your attorney on this if you have one. If you plan on suing the manufacturer then you better not ride the scooter anymore. That means you lost the bet, game over and you're stuck in Florida until you figure out how to finish. Or would that be on the back of a pickup truck?
Say wouldn't that make you WRONG about being able to reach Key West on a fully functional scooter.

Jay the guy is looking for a reaction from you and you are giving it to him. You should be letting him sit in the corner and talk to himself. Both of you should go across the street get yourself an ice cream and come back and see us when you have grown up.

I have to take my "Chinese POS" into Town to get a cone. But since I have your attention, tell me why my Chinese 150 is running just fine at 6,000 miles and his is a steaming pile now? Any thoughts?

KZ1000st you do not have my attention and I am not going to engage you in some game of wit. I will however state my opinion. The Chinese scooter is nothing more than a ruse to the unsuspecting consumer. Put side by side to the higher quality Japanese scooters the Chinese scooter is hands down a better value. That is until you figure in the cost of all the little things that are wrong with these things before they are even taken out of the crate and the cost to fix all theses things one by one or all at once. Add that to the fact that they are clearly lower quality which few will deny and therefor less reliable. My guess is paying retail for the improvements and lower life expectency the value actually may be similar. I now own 4 of these things and it has been about 9 mos. since I decided to buy my first. I am the kind of guy who enjoys projects and using my skills to do things on the cheap. I have yet to have more than $500 into all 4 of these and three of them run. So, I guess I have accomplished my goals. Next spring I will probably sell a couple of them off for a profit making this a pretty much no cost hobby if I do not figure in my time. So could people like you or myself keep one of these things going? Well, yes and I think we both have proven that. However, could my sister buy one of these things with no mechanical ability and be happy with it? I do not think so! I am going to say this is quite apparent with all the 2 and 3 year old scooters with at times not even 1000 miles on them for sale cheap by frustrated people. The AVERAGE consumer wants something that just works and is reliable. I rarely see any website selling new scooters talking about how you should replace things like valve stems, fuel lines etc. Yes, some do but most don't. I don't think they get what they thought with a scooter from china for the most part and are duped into thinking they are by the people selling these things. Be happy my friend there is no merit in bashing someone else's efforts in whatever their goals are. Sorry, but will not post in this thread again as I do not want to derail the subject.

Are these the same consumers who put blazing hot coffee between their legs, poodles in a micowave and need holes punched in all their plastic grocery bags so they don't suffocate themselves? The same ones who mistake their accelerator for their brake pedal, crash and cry "Unintended Acceleration"?
It isn't just Chinese scooters that need to be cared for and ridden sensibly. I could fill this forum with stories of every brand of bike and scooter that failed mechanically at some point. For your info I could pick up a Honda Reflex right now for $850 because the thing had the audacity to break it's belt after 12,000 miles. Imagine the frustration of that "Poor Consumer" that he's unloading such a lemon.
