I have been riding since I was like 8. Everything from a 2 wheeler to a 18 wheeler. Never mastered that one wheel thing (Unicycle). I really have to count my blessings as I have never had anything other than my own silly pranks, well one time the fuel cock on my Kawasaki 350 just fell off (rusted through?) and gas went everywhere, @ 16 years old, I not realize when you have gas on the rear tire, do not use the brake on asphalt, may be OK on Dirt! I think it a personal preference as to wear or not wear a helmet. But, we have to count or blessing when we crash and burn regardless of choice! I have always been a Hypocrite, as I tell others to wear a helmet and then I do not. I have a helmet always did, just they stayed home. Have a nice 1/2 helmet I got when I bought my Dazon 50, it never been on my head other than to see if it fit. Guess the odds are beginning to run against me @ 54 I been counting my blessings for 46 years! I just wish people would learn to drive and have concern for each other, seems everyone is in someone's way. Here in Arkansas the bicyclist complain the Geese are in their way at the Park, and the Bicycle is in the way of the car, and the car in the way of the 18 wheeler. No one can take their foot off the gas. Reminds me when we get a new-used car, take dad for a ride and he say; "Throw the Conoco to it!" LOL! Heck yea push it to the floor, but, not when others are on the road. Respect and observation getting lost in the shuffle of life. Even today, I can go out on a country/dirt road and there be two trucks stopped and they talking, they not have to get out of my way, it their road too! I just hit the ditch and wave as I go by. Most people stop and be blowing their horn and wasting time getting all upset, LOL. OK well I rambled on long enough, yea helmets are important and I really feel we should all wear them, but, many say OK and not, I just be truthful and say it a personal preference. Just wish there was more respect for others and observation on the road, instead of a concern to text someone because people are worried they cheating on them, and that a personal preference too and calling them not change it! Take care; Sam I am

Take it easy and glad you wasn't hurt badly.. Out there in traffic, well nearly every vehicle is larger than we are. So we must watch traffic closer, expect the unexpected, and try to guess what others are thinking. We are your typical motorcycle riders. lol

That is a fact, any rider not in a CAR has to be more viligante than anybody else and anticapte what a car might do whether in front of you or in back of you or coming off a street. I always never try to ride along side a car, I will either slow it down or speed up to try and not be beside a car.
As the COP SHOW used to say BE CAREFULL OUT THERE Alleyoop

From years of riding, when I have to pass a car I watch the steering tires. If the car is changing lanes on you you can see the front wheels change direction before it becomes a problem. Not in defense oc car drivers but theey dont know how to use mirrors they just aim and go, opps forgot, aim talk and go, opps not correct yet, aim talk, text, and go.
