I've been looking forever to try to find a 100% waterproof cover for my scooter. Everytime I find one that says its 100% waterPROOF, the reviews online say its not true and water gets through. My scooter is kept outdoors and I live in FL where it can down pour. Right now I have a black rain ponch on the front of the scooter. A black garbage bag on the back, covered by a black scooter cover I bought before on Ebay that not only was not waterproof, but only fit the BACK half of my scooter ( at least they let me keep it and gave me my $ back) Anyone have any luck finding a 100% waterproof scooter cover where ZERO rain gets through, even after a heavy rain. I could probably buy a black shower curtain and silicone some elastic around the border but I dont want it to look ghetto because I park it infront of my place. Thanks

Take a tarp and sew it to shape. I have a friend in Tarpon that did that as he lives in an apartment, no garage

I had a vinyl bike cover years ago that was waterproof. You know what's wrong with waterproof covers? They don't breathe. As a result moisture condenses under them and everything gets damp. Dampness makes things rust. My 500 Kawasaki spent one winter under it and all the chrome pitted and the instruments fogged. The next winter I put it in my Dad's garage. Maybe a good canvas tarp with gore tex or scotchgard applied would work, but anything left outside in the elements suffers.

Ya true they don't breathe but I ride my scooter daily so once the rain stops I'll have the cover off and hanging up to dry over the clothes line while my scooter airs out.

My point is that really nothing works effectively in fighting the elements. Inside a garage or wooden shed is about as good as it gets. Mine suffer even in an unheated garage. I find a light coating of moisture on everything in the garage in the spring. Heating the garage is best. I just bought a parts bike that has been outside under a half tarp for seven years. The chain and wheel bearings are rusted solid. Even a good cover doesn't keep windblown water out. After that long winded speech all I can say is buy the best cover you can afford, wax and oil regularly and hope for the best.

Thanks. I went with a cover on Ebay. I live in FL so I use the scooter daily ( it doesnt sit) I'm just going to silicone a section of a shower curtain inside the area of the scooter I need to be covered and water proof ( the seat area ) since it won't fit on so tight anymore that rain can't slid into the cracks

Thanks for the idea. I just want the area over my gauges and seat "water proof". Do you know if a spray adhesive would hold it to a nylon cover. Lord knows I can't sew so that's out of the question. ;D

Np. Sewing would create holes so I was thinking of cutting out a piece of shower curtain to go over that area ,then flipping the cover over on the ground and lightly caulking the shower curtain to the cover. I know that stuff is water proof. My friend just said Walmart has some stuff called " camp dry " in the camping section of walmart and I can spray that on fabric to water proof it, maybe ill do that too if i can find it

Go to Walmart of Lowes and get a BBq Grill cover. Some of them already have straps to tie underneath

if your scoot is not trying to win a beauty contest you could go with a heavy duty tarp and some bungee cords. cute scoot btw, is that a 50 or 150? just saying, a tarp is waterproof and they have cool camo designed ones at wallyworld. i keep mine under a gazebo but tarp it when it looks like it will rain sideways. works for me as i live in florida as well.

its a 50cc. thanks. i have a black rain poncho on the front now and a scooter cover that was so defective it only fit the back half on the back of it so im looking for a 1 piece that looks better. ya kinda tryin to at least get 3rd place in the beauty contest since i park it in front of my place in a fancy neighborhood. Id like it to not look crappy. The neighbors who own parts of the building on the property who go nuts making sure every flower is trimmed and in place probably wouldnt take too kindly to a tarp. otherwise id go for that idea. i did order a motorcycle cover for $20. im just going to spray it with water proofing spray and add some plastic inside it to protect the important parts i want to stay dry on the bike. thanks for the ideas though.
