Those sound like a great idea. I'd get one if it didn't rain sideways all the time here. LOL. When it rains in FL its like a hurricane and blows in from all angles. Also are not allowed to install any coverings infront of the building like that. The owner of the bldg is very particular how the front looks. Cant wait for the cover that i got to come, see how it works and then make it better from there

That is a sharp looking litle scoot I must say. Just cover it as you are you will be fine. Both my trike and my Honda are under my carport. I keep both cleanand have no rust, also cover with Wal Mart cover on the Honda. We have not had much rain here for some time in New Port Richey

yup gotta love the florida showers. terrilee, i picked up a 9' x 12' tarp carport ( with metal frame tubing ) from tractor supply for 10$ more. i didnt have to order it and they also make kits to go with it to totally enclose it. i had it covering my 1963 glastron carlson s-16. a bad storm came through and twisted it up and threw it over my house. that was after 2 or 3 months of owning it, was ultimately a waste of 100$ but it was well worth it while it lasted. just remember if you know it will be windy or a storm is about to blow through, take the tarp off!! i know its going to be there to cover your scooter but it wont do any good if its broke or ripped up.

LMSAO
the house i live in has 7 inches of land around it ( well that my landlord owns) except the front yard ( hahaha ,yard,, NOT ) but it is about 20 ft and 15 to the road
so my landlord is not going to be happy about my 'tent garage' but thats his problem, when he was going to do the hose and roof i told him i would pay someone to do a GREAT looking shed on the porch { my 1st attempt wasn't very pretty but it was a starter 'shed'}
but he came up with alot of excuses, the biggest being that i'd have to have it approved by the town and getting building permits etc etc.
but a 'tent garage' is listed as a temp so i need no permits
and even tho we get HEAVY winds im positive if i stake it down good enough it will be fine BUT NOW i need some 'security lights' to keep the 'punks' from being curious
i also love the shed cause when the 'kids' wanna sit down there they are secured.
i was thinking about putting it sorta at the side/front but the one side is the house so im not sure if i will be able to anchor it to securely
BUT im NOT gonna let 'Chrissy' sit in the cold and rain & snow the rest of the winter and being that it has been unseasonable warm so far i expect winter to drag on thru april

silverfox, same scooter, the one i had before this was same make/model just slightly different color and 2010 instead of a 2011. I didnt really get into fixing my scooter's problems through scooterdoc until I got the new one. The other one I gave up when it had bad brakes, possible wrong / different oils mixed together, woudlnt start, broken kick start and missing mirror + scratches ( someone knocked it over ) on the streets people think its fun to go scooter knocking. ill never park my scooter in the streets of south beach at night ever again. so i gave up on that one and sold it to a mechanic and started over w this one babying it and vowing to try to fix whatever went wrong with it myself. Lately though he has been called every cus word in the book Terrilee, my scooter's name is Italiano ( male ) ;even though its a chinese scooter) simply because id rather have a male between my legs than a female. LMAO

i had my tent carport staked down with the screw in dog chain anchors. the carport had 6 posts but i only put one on each corner and not the middle ones. yours will be good just staked down though. i was asleep and a weak twister is what ripped mine out of the ground and threw it over the house, the tarp believe it or not is still in great condition, as for the tubes, they look like a bunch of tangled pretzels. last year i had a 200$ electric pressure washer come up missing, the "punks" got to it. i have since then put a 4 camera security system around my house with 1 aiming at my wood gazebo where i lock my scoot up at night. if i see anybody at strange hours my .38 handles the rest. now careful how you word things straightbangin, some of the people on this site are a little older then us and you might cause their pace makers to malfunction...

The problem is that most truely waterproof material will trap moisture comeing out of the ground through the cement and dirt and gravel (sometimes even blacktop) under the tarp. So you near 100% humidity will cause a lot of rust and/or corrosion. And waterproof but breathable material is expensive. I think I would opt for either a carport or as you suggested, a seat cover only.
Good question. be nice to find a garage to share.
Cheers

Look for a grill cover, It will be large enough, it will likely be black, it will be heavy enough, they are readily available, they are inexpensive, and if you put it on while the scooter is hot, all will be fine
good luck
