These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these. Just think of the impact on existing technology: A. no more air valves... B. no more air compressors at gas stations... C. no more repair kits... D. no more flats... These are actual pictures taken at the South Carolina plant of Michelin. Alleyoop

Yes guess they are trying to save on OIL that it takes to make full tires. So only a thin piece of rubber is needed and the wheel takes up the give and take. Alleyoop

cops have something WAY better then spike strips, its a new invention they came out with about a few years ago. its a net system designed to tangle up in the 2 front tires and make them stop. but that would get costly as im sure its a 1 time use thing, unless they hire somebody to untangle the mess after they impound the car lol.

I can't wait. Just think, snow, salt, almost freezing temperature, the result is slush. It's going to be a really rough ride if you park it with slush inside the exposed spokes and the temperature drops. Now, do the spokes chew up and spit out the ice, or does the ice chew up and spit out the spokes?

OOH! Another common scenario -- a wheel parked in a two to three inch deep puddle that freezes overnight. You won't move, or you will tear up the tweel, and/or the body of the car.

yup cops are going to scream the first time they put the spikes out! time will tell but they look like they would be better on wagons. thats probably why they didnt make it to market, the gov squashed them for that reason.

Now, do the spokes chew up and spit out the ice, or does the ice chew up and spit out the spokes? that wouldnt be the fault of the design would it? that would be on the fool in northern climates who tried to use them right?
