I don't think anybody here has one. It's not a widely owned scooter for some reason, I'm not sure why, it's very cool looking. That would make a person a little suspicious right there but it is an Icebear and they're well built. PM or e-mail Rapid Jim and see what he thinks about them. He doesn't sell scooters but he knows Icebear inside and out. He's a good guy and will give you an honest opinion. Rich Correction, I DO sell scooters. Both Ice Bear and Roketa. www.rapidrepair.webs.com/scooters.htm The only ones listed on my site right now is the IB 50cc and the 150cc. I am running out of storage space on this site and I am in the process of building a new site with Go Daddy as my server. Got a great deal for a 10G site. This is a new addition to the ICE BEAR line. I haven't got it on my website yet. I have a had a customer call for some PDI advice on his since his dealer didn't seem to want to be bother. (Killermotorsports) After he got his on the road he seemed to be very happy with it, so far. I normally do not talk about other dealers but, I have received many phone calls for support from their customers because Killer don't seem to want to help them and I do want to point a couple things out. Read their warranty page www.killermotorsports.com/articles.asp?id=137You will notice that they only offer a 90 day free warranty and have some strange fine print. They offer an extended motor warranty 6 mos for $59.00 and 12 mos for $99.00. Now the real Ice Bear's warranty is : www.rapidrepair.webs.com/warranty.htm www.icebearatv.com/Trike-Products.htm (includes 2 wheelers, warranty page is being re-written) is 6 mos parts and 12 months motor. I ask you, who is Killer trying to fool. Here is something else that is very interesting (making the potential customer feel they are getting a REAL DEAL. www.killermotorsports.com/IceBear_300cc_Supersport_Gas_Scooter_Moped_p/ib-pst300.htmFREE! - Residential Home Delivery ($55 Value) FREE! - Shipping Protection Insurance ($59 Value) FREE! - 24 Hour Delivery Notification ($10 Value) FREE! - 3 Month Vehicle Warranty ($99 Value) I would like to know where they get their value figures since all of the above is free anyways from most dealers. Now this one gets me: FREE! - Vehicle Inspection/Testing before shipping ($59 Value), I wonder how they do that since the machine is drop shipped from the distributor to the customer. Unless they are talking about the factory doing it before it is shipped from China. Which by the way, they do. www.bbb.org/fort-worth/business-reviews/motorcycles-dealers/killer-motorsports-in-fort-worth-tx-164741954/ Their rating is average and is a lot better than some I have seen. I just question their ethics. Jim

Not to be a wet blanket but here's the problem I have with spending over $2500 on a Chinese Maxi scooter. 2003 Suzuki Burgman - 6000 miles - inspection good until 7/13 - comes with cover and full shop manual $2500.00 or will consider trade for Suzuki DRZ 400S Dual Sport or other Japanese dual sport (570)470-9067 PLEASE CALL ---- WILL NOT RESPOND TO TEXT OR EMAILS Craigslist is a wonderful thing isn't it? 6000 miles on a 400 Burgman is just about broken in. The pictures that went along with the ad showed an immaculate scooter in blue. scranton.craigslist.org/mcy/2788206145.htmlI'm as big a fan of Chinese scooters as anyone-BUT-I'm also a fan of value per dollar. A 250 for $1600 is one thing, close to $3000 is another. www.bike2go.com/mcv18-300cc-deluxe-moped-scooter-water-cooled-engine-wheels-windshield-rear-trunk-free-shipping-p-1397.htmlI'm sure the people I've argued with about Chinese scooters being inferior would laugh but I also believe some things can cost too much for what you get. I'm keeping an eye out for $500 250s. After I cure whatever ills they have I'll get just as mileage as a new one.

Jim, how are you? I looked at Killer Motor Sports, but had no idea they were drop shipped from the supplier. Since you know this unit can you please fill us all in on the details of the scooter and why this one is much higher then lets say a Roketa 250 54B. It doesn't appear as if anyone on this board owns one, which sounds strange unless it just came out. Which brings me to the next question why are all scooters sold today 2008 models? What happened to 2009-2011? Are these scooters sitting in a create for 3 or 4 year?
To be honest I don't get the China scooter deal at all. Why no fuel injection in 2012? Why don't they produce a real 300 cc or 400 cc scooter?
My main concern is simple maintenance. The only thing you can do on a Roketa 250 without having to remove a bunch of plastic is change the oil, change the gear oil and change the rear brake and signal bulbs. No one should have to remove the entire front end to change a burnt out headlight bulb or signal bulb.
So Jim what makes the Icebear scooter worth the price?

One reason for no fuel injection is to keep the price down and I am sure they have been told that dealers in the U.S.A will not work on scoots coming from china. So their thinking is to make them easy to work on and put the old reliable carbs on them that do not require special instruments to diagnose the ECUs and sensors that come with a Fuel Injection system. Even now NOT MANY dealers have a mechanic with experience and know-how that can properly setup a fuel injectied engine and even some may not even have the equipment.
As for the CCs your asking SHOW ME one that has the displacement that they advertise has having. They all may be close but they all are ROUNDED UP from their real displacement never down.
Concerning the ease of doing some bulb changeing or what not some you do not have to take everything off. On my 2009 IB Trike I can reach the bulbs up front from under the front wheel. But even then if I need to get to the back of my instrument panel it really is not that hard at least on mine. Need to take the front plastic cover 4 screws, then 6 screws to take the windshield off and then 4 little screws for the instrument panel cover. The rear lighting there is an access panel at the rear of the bucket held on with two push down plastics screws. Pop those off and pull the access panel out and I am able to get at all of my rear light bulbs and wireing. Alleyoop

OK, I can buy into the carb vs fuel injection. Although all the Jap scooters and bikes have fuel injection in them. Now when was the last time you had to remove your front grill and bumper off your car or truck to change a head light bulb? LOL All I'm saying is there has to be a better designed scooter.

I am somewhat in the dark also about the IB 300 scooter but, that is on my list for Monday to call and get as much info as I can. Your question about "why are all the scooters 2008s, there was an over import that year and some dealers are selling them that way. I always check the year before I order for a customer. Part of the personal touch. All the ones I sold this year have been 2011s except one 2010. I do expect fuel injection to come more on the scene with Chinese machines. There will be two problems with that, cost will go up and not everyone will be able to work on them. Personally I feel carburation is the way to go when considering most prefer to work on their own machines. The Roketa 54B has been discontinued. It is now just an MC 54 250. I will let you know more about my opinion on the 300 Scooter when i learn more. Jim

Thanks Jim for the information. It sure seems as if everyone is selling the 2008 models. Nice to know you are selling the newer models. Please let me know what you find out about the IB 300

Yep, if anybody can get the REAL poop on the IBs it is JIM he has a good re-pore with IB and since he is a very good wrencher he can ask the right questions and try to get the correct poop. The people at IB are not really very mechanical they just do the selling to dealers and import the stuff. They normally put the question to the manufacture in china and wait for a response. I used to ask questions when I first bought my trike back in 2009 , they would ask for pictures from me and I would email them the pictures they in turn got pictures from china and send them to me. There is one thing I don't understand. Killer's C- rating.
74 complaints filed against business 2 complaints filed against business that were not resolved
Let me get out my calculator.
That's an unresolved complaint rate of 2.7%. Doesn't that mean a 97.3% rate of resolution? In a company that deals mostly with the general public that would be 973 out of every thousand people were happy. How is that a C-? The general public can be pretty emptyheaded at times and 97.3% was an A when I went to college.

Tell you all another little tid bit, if it is Drop Shipped it is Shipped From IBs Warehouse. Very simple if that happens just look at the delivery stamps when you get it. For instance if say you bought it from a dealer in PA it should say coming from PA not CA if he had actually had them in his inventory. Some ordered them back in 2009 and 20010 and are stuck with older models. Now if a dealer had ordered their own and had them shipped to themselves you will find that the price is usually little higher than dealers that just take orders and calls up IB and have them drop shipped.
What gets me is when they say they check them(HUH). How did they do that when they are drop shipped from the importers warehouse. The only place they got checked and looked over was in china before they were shipped and put on a boat. Alleyoop

I agree with your math and I did ask that question once of the BBB when they were trying to get me to become BBB accedited. Their rating is based on other factors also. The main thing about the complaint issue is that in their eyes, the complaints they get are after the customer has tried to work with the dealer first. They have no idea how many complaints the dealer's customers had that never made it to the BBB level or those that just didn't file with the BBB. Not sure how they come up with their figures either. It is just like finding someone who can tell you exactly how they arrive at a credit score, I have asked quite a few bankers and they don't have a clue. Jim

I was curious. Most of the people who've done business with Killer on these forums were satisfied. I don't know what their sales figures are but 74 complaints and only two unsatisfied doesn't sound bad to me. Think about the issues we've read about Chinese scooters here alone and imagine projecting them nationally. I'm surprised the number isn't 7400 complaints.
