I understand the weights being to heavy would be a slow increase in speed thru the complete throttle range and not a bog .Tomorrow I will turn that air filter back over so the small end is down .If the bog is gone then I know there is less air .That will make the bog be gone with the leaner mixture .If that corrects the problem a new bigger jet and turning the air filter back over the right way should fix my problem .

Yeah i agree. Maybe the weights are too heavy but alley is on to something with the air leak.

That is what I said!! The Bog is NOT BECAUSE of your Variator it is a Fuel Mixture Problem. Even after you fix the Fuel Mixture you will still have bad exceleration DUE TO THE weights being to heavy looseing POWER becaue your RPMS cannot climb. You said that a little backwards LESS AIR RICHER MORE AIR LEANER. Pictures BRO, Pictures I would sure like to see how that filter is attached to the inlet of the air box since you are saying you can turn it around? Alleyoop

I went out and checked for vacuum leaks all over again ,everything looks good .Looks like I need a bigger jet .Where can I buy parts and stay away from ebay?If I have a #103 what would be a good guess at the jet I need to buy ?

Yea I found it on line and it is open on both ends. When you put it in the Air Box does one END GET PLUGGED UP or are both ends open when in the box? Reason I ask is because if when in the box both ends are open one getting the air from outside and the other end is open THERE is not much FILTERING going on the air is coming in and going out the other END. The Air should be Flitering through the RED all around the filter.
The filter is causeing to much air going to your carb. What I do not understand is YOU SAID it was running good, SO what did you change did you buy that filter and put it on?
Anyway if you want to upjet and and you have a #103 get a 105 and a 110. That should be more than enough. Alleyoop

OR you can add verbish before each picture or hit the space bar to space them out etc..

In the second picture .That hole is smaller .The filter was turned so that the smaller hole was what was letting air into the air tube going in to the carb .The smaller hole was letting less are into the carb .I turned the filter over like its suppose to go and it bogs.More air going into the engine .The bigger hole in picture one .

Well if it is bogging you WANT LESS AIR . So turn it back the other way you don't want that much air coming in. Alleyoop

To me those under the seat air filers are rubbish.i would upgrade immediately. It does look as if no filtering of the sort is taking place what so ever. Maybe that filter is the wrong style.

Redrider, Did you flip the filter with the smaller hole to be the one getting in the air? It should make it run richer. Alleyoop

The other thing you can do is Tape up some of the Filter on the Red part to cut some air off. Tape part of it try it if not enough tape up it off a little more and so on. Alleyoop

If I might express an opinion. I had trouble with lean surging and hard starting on mine. It turned out to be the O-ring on the intake manifold. Theoretically a great idea but I'm guessing it's giving a lot of people fits.
The easy way to find it is to start the scooter and spray around the base of the manifold with WD-40. When the engine picks up speed you'll know you found it.

If it ran good when you got it... then something you have done has maybe changed that...
Do one thing at a time and see what differences you get. Put things back exactly as they were when you got the scooter
Why did you take the carb off in the first place? Have you tried to adjust the air fuel mixture on a hot engine?

I have miss lead everyone ,but I just didn't understand how the enricher worked .I took my scooter out today and rode it for a bit .I had just been riding it to work when it was colder out side just 4 blocks .3minute ride tops .Today about 5 min in to the ride all the bog was gone .It ran like a top .I guess my scooter is just a little cold natured .I enjoyed the ride ,got cold but i enjoyed it .I'm sorry for the misunderstanding .I do want a quicker response ,I think that is in my roller weights.I will start a new thread about that .Thanks to all
