BUMMER!! Cannot test it, did you check inside the BOOT where the plug fits in to see if the plug clip is in tack. Also the boot screws onto the Coil wire make sure it is nice and tight hold the wire and turn the boot cap clockwise it screws on just like a screw. Get yourself a Volt meter they are pretty cheap, you do not need an expensive one. Harbor Frieght or Wal-Mart should have them for probably under $10.00. Then you can us it to test any electrical problem on the scoot.
Also make sure the Kill switch is on the run position and on the center stand? Alleyoop

Welcome back Terrilee! I think your coil has a hairball by the looks of your attachment. You can ohm them out with a multi but a lot of folks think that's inaccurate. As cheap as they are I like to keep one or two around to swap out to see if that's the problem. Alley's right, get a multi and check for continuity on the boot, that is the problem very frequently. I agree with Alley.. check the plug boot.. if you have replaced the plug... they often will break inside and not contact the plug...

Unscrew the boot from the coil wire and take the boot and plug and go to an auto parts place and tell them you want one similiar to that one. Might just be the boot and the connections inside if you say it is rusty. Alleyoop

I had this problem with the Yamaha. When I pulled the spark plug cap the cable inside the coil wire was all but missing. I cut half an inch off the wire and screwed the cap back on. Knock on wood it seems to have solved the problem.

Rather than get the scooters fixed that I bought off the other shop closing down, I decided to part out the messier ones and only fix 3 of them.

On the 2008 scoots, we often found that the pick-up coil would go out when warmed up, at first, then go out altogether. We replaced quite a few...all seemed to be working now.

I agree there were a lot of bad pick-up coils on the 2008 scooters...

Hmm, not sure if the pickup from the 50 would work on a 150, haven't checked.
