mine does the same exact thing except for randomly, the electrics on my bike "flicker" or appear to flash by going very very dim, and then back to normal. going to replace my rectifier/regulator, and purchase an HID kit. if that dont solve it then i might go with an 8 or 11 pole stator, as tvnacman told me, anything less then an 11 is a waste of time. im looking up HID kits now because my headlights are super dim at night and it is almost too dangerous to ride. i will post links of my findings incase you want to go HID.

With a 6 and 8 pole stator dim at idle is normal as long as they brighten up with a little throttle. The stock charging systems are barely adequate on a lot of bikes. Now flickering, BC, is not normal. Yeah, you've got a bad R/R or loose connection. Going to an 11 pole stator would be a great idea as John pointed out. Following your upgrades would be most welcome. Rich

Bc just changing to led and converting headlights to DCV maybe enough . save your self about $100 and a fair amount of work . It might be something to think about .

How do you change to dcv? I want to go hid but you can only run hid on dcv unless you have the 11 pole stator.

forget the hid for the moment = forget the 11pole stator//////////// try to go with leds first and use the regular headbulbs/////////// pull a red and green wire 12awg from the battery with an in line ckt breaker , Get yourself a RIB RELAY IN BOX . If your willing to do it I will spend the time explaining how to .
let me know

Shoot, I forgot about DCV, that's a great option. If you do that go with the Trail Tech R/R. It's about $50.00 but well worth it. If you haven't read my thread about bumbling around with DC conversion you can click here. If you're interested I can tell you how to do a conversion with the yellow AC wire without rewiring the whole thing. Rich

John was helping me do the conversion last night and we determined that myscoot was not charging and adcv conversion would kill the battery very fast. Will need a new stator. Going to the11 pole setup.

BC , Rich's idea with the trailtech is a good one , however it will involve moding the stator and the scooter harnes its a little cheaper to do but more work to be done . When all is said and done if the stator should fail when you get a replacement you will have to mod it to work with that set up . If you go with the 11pole setup it is almost plug and play you will not be messing with the windings on the stator , just the external wiring .

roket , some of the regulators do ground to the body of the regulator . It is worth a try I would check to make sure it is charging . I would be happy to help you do that , let me know.
