www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=716516Hi guys. I was following a thread on here earlier in the year about a guy who was attempting to go from Maine to Key West on a Chinese scoot. The link above is from Adventure Rider and is about an 18 year old kid who rides cross country on a 30 year old 70 cc Honda Cub that he rebuilt. No sponsors. No support. $600 budget. Lots of breakdowns and problems, but he figures out a way. Prepare to be inspired. In general, when we discuss the human race, we all say the world has changed and people cry and point fingers and look to blame someone else. This kid flat out gives me hope.. Check it out.

That's a great story, thanks for posting the link. I still have the chaotic thread that you mentioned, it's just moved to a hidden board. It however showed the darker side of humanity. Jay did eventually make it to Key West so there was some redemption. Rich

Glad to hear he made it. He stopped posting on his own blog as well. I agree that thread was way outta control.

Elite1- Thank you very much for posting that thread. Not only a great story, but also an excellent example of how something like this can be presented to great effect.

a 30 year old 70cc cub, now thats more of a story and more of a chance of a movie, don't you all think?
I still think the guy on the bicycle did the impossible or as close to it as any one will see in this day and age.
When we look back 150 years some of our fore fathers did a cross country trip in a covered wagon and a couple cows pulling before there were roads and jay would have had us believe it was a spectacular trip with a brand spanking new chinese 150cc that could have made it with one valve adjustment and in less than a couple weeks at 45 mph!
In our time the 70cc gets my vote, but the cow powered wagon is still the all time winner. and a few walked toooo. john
