Prior to putting my scoot up for the winter, it developed a loud irritating squeek in the rear of the bike. I couldn't figure out what it was, but thought I would sort it out when spring came. The squeek was happening as the scooter was kind of bouncing up and down. I could make it happen just by sitting on the seat and bouncing a bit. Finally has my step son sit on it and bounce it. I took a long screw driver and placed it to my ear (the handle end not the metal) and the tip on the top and bottom bottom shock mounts. Nothing there! Then I tried the motor mounts. Nothing there either! Went round to the left side of the scoot to check the mounts on that side. As I knelt down ( with step son still bouncing) I, quite by accident, pushed the center stand down a bit and the squeek immediately stopped! When I released the centerstand the squeek resumed! Aha! I took a rag and wiped the rubber cushion off and the bottom of the engine. Grabbed my trusty can of WD-40 and gave it a quick shot! END OF AN IRRITATING SQUEEK! I posted this only to possibly be of help to anyone experiencing a similar problem.

Thanks sprocket. Back when I was just a kid, I worked for the Chrysler Plymouth dealership in my home town. I did all the grease jobs and oil changes and clean-up. We used to use a product called RuGlidefor spraying on the rubber shock inserts and other rubber parts. It worked good, but haven't seen any of that for many many years. I'll ge a spray can of lithium grease and give it a shot. I can use it on my car doors hinges and etc. too.

The squeak is the little rubber wheel on the stand that rolls on that plate by the engine code. It allows the engine to move forward and back over the center stand as the engine mount moves.. Rich
