Well, I don't know if it's correct or not. I'm no where near smart enough for that, but it is reading 40-50psi. Now, I'm going to take it apart & re time it. I really hope you are all right & it's the timing

I hope it is the timing also, but it is much cheaper to check it, than to buy a new engine or go through the BBK routine...
If the engine is done then it is done.. but at least you will know...

Timing was correct. Now the big question, new engine, or 2 birds with one stone, more power & running, with big bore kit?

Just to make sure, you are testing the compression with the Throttle wide open and holding it there while your checking the compression. Also if the compression is that low you should be able to grab the Variator and turn it Counter Clockwise with ease.
Also the Timeing did you check to make sure the WOODRUFF key did not come out or is out of position or gouged in any way. Alleyoop

It don't I understand, what is Woodruff key? The magnet, it's still there. Turn it backwards, ok, & no I didn't check it throttle all the way open. I didn't to get the 185psi. Alleyoop, wish you lived next door.

Seanstr, Did you try the OLD FINGER in the hole compression test? Holding the Throttle wide open and cranking it. If it blows your finger off the scoots will run, if you just felt a little push on your finger you have a compression problem. Alleyoop
