Ok so I finally got my Baja SC150 put back together with a new belt and new variator. I got it out yesterday drove it around... everything ran excellent....it was nice to get it out and riding it. So i stopped got something to drink and jumped back on it....drove not even a mile and the belt shredded again.
So my question to yall is, what would cause this to happen? I got the right belt that i was told to get...It was a little tight getting on but i expect that. Anyone with any ideas on what is causing this....
OH side note and i dont know if this could be the issue as well... but when i push the scooter around it is kinda hard to push

Who made the belt Gates or Bando? There are a lot of very poor quality cheap knock-offs as well. Belts dry out and if it was an Ebay special it was likely one of them...
But the scooter should not be hard to push around...your clutch may be engaged ...or a bad needle bearing...if this is the second time then the rear pulley may not be turning on idle and that would cook a belt real quick..
Run it with the CVT cover off to see what is happening...

sounds like the belt was a little to small. I run a Gates 842-20-30 and on my other scooter i use Gates 835-20-30.

Nay, even if the belt was the shorter one the Tranny should not be engaged, which means the CLUTCH PADS are most likely engaged when stopped. Something is wrong with the CLUTCH . Alleyoop

Get a Gates PL20705 and pull the clutch apart...look first... then order parts
You have replace the variator...it seems
Why is all this necessary?

We are not saying you need to replace the CLutch take it off it could just be a Spring to retract the Pads is broke and is binding against the bell and all you would need is new springs( a couple of bucks). So take it off first and check it out. If you need help to decide if you need a new one put up pictures when you take it off and we can tell if a new one is needed. Alleyoop

HEHEHE, well all of a sudden he wants to order parts before he checks the stuff out. It could just be a single clutch spring is broke and binding the pad against the bell and he would not need a new clutch save him some bucks. Alley

The Brake Part cleaner I think just ruined my clutch.... I just posted about it this morning, mine is slipping horribly after cleaning it with that.
