For you newer members that may not know, PJ is a moderator on Scooter Doc that has battled kidney disease his entire life. He took a turn for the worse some months ago and has been waiting for a kidney transplant. After many disheartening false hopes he is finally on the way to the hospital and a donor kidney is waiting. We all wish him the best and he will be keeping us informed as much as possible. I'll let you know if I hear anything via PMs but hopefully he will feel well enough to post on this thread. Rich

I don't know you PJ, but I wish you luck and a speedy recovery!
As someone who has worked closely with transplant patients, I know the first couple days are going to be hard, but it'll get better fast!

Thanks for the well wishes! Jus so y'all know my first transplant was April 24 98. This one was April 3rd but the OR room number was 24 talk ab out a twilight zone moment.

Looks like I'm being discharged tomorrow then its a long 6 week ordeal with visits to the doctor

I got a PM from PJ yesterday, he's had a bit of a setback and will have to stay in the hospital into next week. He's in no danger and complications with such an involved surgery are obviously not unusual. We should get a little more info directly from him in a day or two. Rich

I got a PM from PJ and he's getting better with the kidney functioning up to expectations. He's recovering at home and down to seeing the doctors twice a week. We wish him well and hope he comes back to Scooter Doc as a mod soon. Rich
