I'm about to tear down and rebuild on my Frankenstein scooter's GY6 engine for a forum project. I thought I'd make it a group effort on this board but before I start I wanted to make a test bench. Here's a Youtube with some further pictures afterward:
Rear bracket:
Gas tank, B&S fuel valve (Sprocket approved!), and lawn mower filter:
CDI with busbar:
Battery and coil:
Exhaust strap:
You can just see the red CDI AC power wire peeking out behind the flywheel. I took the center tap off of the yellow wire on this stator which floats the ground. This allows you to use the resulting two equal AC stator wires as yellows for a Trail Tech rectifier (see thread):

Nice Rich... Sure would like to get my Magnum 300 to idle like that, I think it would tear that thing all up. Always liked the 150cc

You know that is how the work on engines in China etc.. they would never work on an engine in the bike they simply 'pop' it and put it on the bench.. just like you have...
Saves the back and is SO much easier to work on...
Good job..Rich

Rich, Thanks for posting this information. I am trying to make a wiring harness for a gy6. Could you indicate/identify where the wires go on the engine. You have good pictures of you bench wiring but I need help figuring out where the wires terminate or tie into on the engine itself. Thanks! Pascal
