Well after reading and reading I have taken the plunge and ordered a Tornado! Hope to have it soon so I start on the PDI I have heard so much about and is very important. Almost bought a used Magnum but I thought I would start fresh in the color I want RED!! At least I know I have a fine group of guys who can walk me through any hard times. I will keep everyone posted on the progess of the "RED BULL" and if I can figure out how to post pictures and do a Build Journal. Where would I write the Journal under?

GREAT!! When it is supposed to be delivered and who did you buy it from? As far as the BUILD Journal start a thread in the Trike section with pictures and stuff. You can use Photobucket it is easy and free.. photobucket.com/Alleyoop here is the Tornado in RED:

I bought it from Mini-bikes Plus nice Lady. The real test will be if I have a warranty problem, then we will see. But checked her out with BBB and even called Icebear which gave her a good mark. I hope to not have any problems but like I said I did a lot of reading and took some notes on different things I should look out for. Rudy

Well if you read Jims thread about PDIs, if you don't get it pdied by either IB or the seller and you do it yourself YOU WILL HAVE WARRANTY PROBLEMS. From reading the Warranty it looks like the only thing that is covered is the ENGINE and GEARBOX. Alleyoop

Hey I read that so I am having a shop do the PDI but he will let me sit in on it. Take some pictures. But my question is I hope anytime something goes wrong and I need a part for warranty, I don't want to have to bring it to the shop. Who would pay the shop fee can't I check my own bike?

Like I said the only parts on the warranty are the MOTOR and GEARBOX everything else is out of your pocket. If the CDI goes you pay and install it, If the Regulator/Rectifier goes you pay and install it or pay someone to do it.
But good luck Bro and keep us posted when the sucker comes in and your riding in the wind. Alleyoop

cool...Most ships will not let you . Al is right certain things are covered and even replacing warranty parts is labor out of pocket or do yourself. But than you did read that and understan and most likely have a little knoledge of bikes and scooters. When you need assistance just post and read the treads in the trike section and and you will do fine

Alley, I thought there was some parts covered under warranty during the time frame. You said If the CDI goes you pay and install it, If the Regulator/Rectifier goes you pay and install it or pay someone to do it. I'm confused here why would I have to pay? I know if a shop puts it in I have to pay them, but lets say the CDI goes bad it's covered under warranty can't I just call my dealer and say hey the CDI is bad send a new one and I will put it on? Mine went out under warranty, think I only had about 600 miles on it. I just went and got one local and was about $30 bucks is all. FMS said it was not covered. IB will stand behind there warranty 100%... They did with me, I have to say I worried a couple times but after contacting the seller, IB sent parts and got me back on the road. If it is covered by warranty you have to give the seller the old part than they will order replacement. That is how it used to work.

If the CDI goes you pay and install it, If the Regulator/Rectifier goes you pay and install it or pay someone to do it. But good luck Bro and keep us posted when the sucker comes in and your riding in the wind. Alleyoop That information is not correct. Ex certs from www.icebearatv.com/warranty"Electrical system: Stator, stator pickup, magneto, voltage regulator/rectifier, CDI, starter relay/starter solenoid, starter motor, coil, distributor assembly and injector relay are covered under this warranty." "Parts not covered under this warranty: Tires, rims, body panels, fuses, forks, shocks, gaskets, light bulbs, seats, CV Boots, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, filters, clutch wear parts, cables, drive belt, chain, spark plug, brake linings and/or pads, batteries, sprockets, external springs, clips, nuts, bolts and fasteners, any part(s) made from rubber. Chrome parts are covered for 10 days." As far as warranty time and limitations: "Trike products: Parts are covered under this warranty to be free from manufacturer defects for 6 months & engine is covered to be free from manufacturer defect for 1 year or 1500 miles, whichever comes first." "Additional Warranty Policy for Drop Shippers: Dropshipping Dealers will be required to submit the receipt for PDI and initial assembly from a professional mechanic shop with each warranty claim. Units which are drop shipped directly to the end user in crate without PDI and assembly by a certified/professional mechanics will have a shorter warranty period as follow: Trike products: Parts covered under this circumstance to be free from manufacturer defects for 60 days on parts & engine is covered for 3 months or 500 miles, whichever comes first: In other words if you do the PDI yourself then the above warranty limitation takes effect. Labor is not covered at all, just parts and the end consumer pays for shipping. Tierod, Hope you know that the Tornado you bought is a 2011 without the new mods. These Tornados were trikes that failed EPA standards, were repaired to meet the EPA standards and are now being offered for sale. The main issue I was told about was the carb not being a sealed carb. The EPA has really got on the band wagon over this sealed carb stuff. I had a customer that was interested in one of these Tornados but, opted to wait till the new ones came out. That is how I know about these. The ETA for the new 300s has been pushed back until sometime in June. They have not even left China yet. Enjoy your Trike. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair
