Has anyone ever used Slick 50 in their gy6? Has anyone heard any pros or cons of using it? I am thinking about using it after my engines break in period.

i don't use additives. I just use valvoline 10/40 winter or Chevron DELO 400 15/40 summer and change the oil every 300-400 miles i'm kinda overkill on the oil changes. But its only a quart. so cheap insurance for me to do it that way. imho terry

Tend to agree with terrdnf, regular oil changes are all that`s needed. The idea behind slick50 is that it puts a protective coating on the bearings so that if your oil pressure fails it gives you a bit of extra protection and so extra time, to shut down the motor. This is fine on a car where you have an oil pressure light which comes on if pressure fails, but on a scoot it`s pointless as if pressure fails you won`t know anyway, so the bit of extra time and protection which slick50 provides is mute.

I check my oil every 2 to300 miles and change it every 1000 . Slick 50 would make it expensive . I would not see any real benifit of it .

yup there were a few that did the roach powder and some bought a new motor. They mostly don't want to talk about it too.
