So today, I was driving my peace sport 50cc gy6 scooter and as I was making a left turn a car tried to pass me and nailed me and my piglet. After putting my scooter seat bucket and battery, and cdi and such. I knew the battery wasn't gonna work so I kick started it NP. But as I made my exit I realize that the front tire will not veer or turn at all to the left (maybe it was scared as I was, that it would happen again) but while the engine is off I get full control of the steering column. What could be causing me to lose left turning while the engine is running??

first off, i hope your ok. secondly, that makes no sense that it will not turn only with the engine on. maybe the upper or lower bearing in the steering column is broke or damaged and wont turn only under pressure from when your trying to operate it? i would check that out first.

I believe terrdnf has the solution. That is about all that seems logical to me.

Ya the ignition lock has turned and it is on the wrong side of the lock stop on the triple tree...remove the front plastic and have a look at the ignition lock andyou will see the steering lock arm..it will be on the rong side of the post, so you need to loosen the ignition lock and get the arm adjusted correctly
