Ok so My scoot has 1423 miles and I had some knocking, pinging and loss of power going up small hills. Never did this before so something is amiss. Adjusted the valves to .004 on both of them in the cold state. The exhaust was already good but the intake was tight .002 at cold state. Cleaned and gapped plug as well. After test run still the same. It seems going uphill is when it occurs. Starting out is fine, flat runs it is good and even down hill is good. Not sure what this is, so any advice is welcome.

What grade of gas are you putting in. Try a higher OCTANE and from a GOOD BRAND. You may have gotten some bad gas. Alleyoop

Might be running lean..? check your air/ fuel mixture...
But trying going up in octane first and if you can ....avoid ethanol blends...

Ok thanks; mid grade gas is from the usual place but will change anyway. Will inspect and check the air/fuel mixture settings. Will report back later today.

Just noticed what he has on the scoot, crap he has #85 main jet on a 18mm carb with stock Air Box and stock muffler. If anything he is running rich and is probably looseing some power. Also with this heat wave the carbs need to be leaned out. Alleyoop

Well it was the air/fuel adjustment 3.5 turns out; (not sure if that indicates anything or not) did not change the gas, as one adjustment at one is the rule. That took the problem away and pulls up the hill like it was before. The plug was tan so I did not think it was running lean.
I have three of these scooters and the list in the sig is not the problem one. The one you guys just fixed is bone stock. Actually now that you pointed that out I need to adjust that list as I am pretty sure I am back to the stock main and pilot jet due the richness it was giving me.
On another note, if I changed the CDI and the Coil to the orange high output and the blue CDI on scrappy dog does anything else require adjustment due to this change or do you see any ill effects forthcoming?
By the way thanks for quick and accurate advice. You have saved the day.

Snitt..Alley good call on the jetting... ;D
Save your money on the orange crap...same as stock, but it costs more...no advantage... get NCY if you want expensive quality parts...still no power advantage, except reliability.
