I was stopped at a yield waiting for traffic to pass.
BOOM.
What happened. What did I do? Why did the scoot jump? I looked in the mirror, there was a car up my scoots a$$.
--'She didn't see me'-- She didn't see my big blue scoot stopped with brake lights on and me sitting on it wearing my bright neon yellow covering?

I was not happy to say the least. She told me there was nothing wrong with my bike and she was going to leave. Argue, argue, argue and she finally agreed to wait for the cops. I won't go into more argue and how she was going to leave even after the cops were called. The cop did chew her out, she was at fault

Damage-Frame looks okay in my quick inspection but it is really tough to tell when your hands are shaking and you are practically sitting in traffic. Rear fender shot, pushed up against tire and muffler. I was able to pull it out to drive the final 1-1/2 miles home. Tail lights, license plate area, etc and need to be replaced. Back skin is broken.

Overall-I am fine, the scoot is repairable. The scoot could have been worse had the woman been going a little faster. Had it been worse (and me still okay), I would be shopping for something new to drive instead of looking for a shop to do the repairs.

Not that I am aware of, she is a year and a half younger than me but looks 5 years older. I don't think she was too sharp.

did cop give here a ticket? What kind, should be reckless driving,

get a estiment right away on repairs and I will bet anything your rear axle is bent enough you need a new engine.

you got 2 choices

a. be lazy and hate your self for ever

b. eye for a eye.

Ask for a drug test on you and her, cops love to give them free if you ask.

tell judge she tried to leave the scene of the event.

Insurance estimator has finally stopped by to look at the scoot.
I had a nice write up of what I found at the crash and additional inspection when I got it home. I had the date purchased, date received, company where purchased, etc, etc.

He is sending for pricing information from the scooter repair shop I suggested.

He asked me about totaling it out and giving me a check for $1200. I thought this low for a 2011 Jonway 250 received in April. I have had it only 4 months and now have just over 1000 miles on it.

So what is the value of the scooter that is only 4 months old?
If I give him a number that he will agree to, I will buy something else either this fall for a good inventory reduction price or next spring so I can start out the summer driving with a new bike.

That also gets into a search for a new bike, but I don't want to get into that on this post.

Take the $1200 and buy the scooter back for $150 with a salvage title, then you have a complete set of spares for your new scooter.

And ditch that lime green crap, it won't stop bullets either.

Looks like it will be totaled.

I talked to the guy who is giving the insurance company the cost information, and he is recommending taking the money.

Now the search for a new (non Jonway) scooter.

You might want to upgrade in dependability and quality with a used scooter. I sold my 250B Roketa and bought a 2006 Honda Silverwing with about 6,800 miles on it for $3,800, and am very pleased with the improved dependability.

You may want to look at 2012 syms just after new years, they are priced down and last i asked a dealer, you can have them worked on
by any motorcycle mechanic for 2 year warrenty ?

Hey Park, I only get cranky when I read your rambling as in your reply #4. And of course when I get rear ended and loose a bike.
