Hi from SA
Been riding a scooter for 2 months now, fuel costs have been kiling me with the car in traffic. Just needed a bit of direction.
I'd like to perform general maintenance and upgrades on my scooter but cant seem to find a manual for it online. Scooter: Linhai, LH 125T-8 'Fortune 125 cc (no idea what motor this id). Also - is it a good motor in that scooter - opinion's needed. I wanted it to go a bit faster (only getting like 60km/h max - wanted at least 100)

Well I don't think it will do 100km/h but it should do at least 70km/h which is 40 MPH. You should check your Weights in the Variator they may be to light and the belt is not traveling high enough for mor top end. I cannot find that scoot when I google also the engine type should be imprinted on the left side on the motor case under the CVT. Alleyoop

Thanks for the help Alleyoop, possibly the rider could lose some weight. I'll be checking the items in your list and will offer feedback. I'm glad i finally found a decent forum for scooter knowledge. cheers

Welcome to Scooter Doc. In the world of Chinese scooters it's very rare to find a service manual specific for a particular scooter. Here's the generic and collections section of our manuals. Peruse through anything with a GY6 in the title and it will apply to your bike. Your engine is a GY6 so always keep that in mind when ordering parts etc.

Linhai is one of the better Chinese makers and they supply parts to mny other brands...
I agree with Alley you won't never hit 100 without a larger displacement and CVT mods...these engines aren't designed to run flat out...it will kill them faster than anything...
