I bought some upgrade performance parts for my trike. I bought an upgraded CDI , that is suppose to bypass the rev limiter etc.But i am not totally sure where to install it. I also bought an high flow airfilter . I was wondering do i just remove the who hole and old assembly from the carb? Or are people cutting the hose and using it as an adapter of sorts?

Hi Roguesquid, First of all which Trike do you have, is it a 50cc,150cc,250cc,300cc? The CDI you will ususally find on tighted up on the Right side of the frame ususally up by the Muffler side. Normally the Trikes do not come with a rev-limited CDI so if you bought what they call a performanace CDI a NONE BLACK one they usually have a little fixed advanced timing which if so you should notice a little more power. Concerning the Air Filter what type of Air Filter does the Trike currently have. It all depends on what type of Air Filter system it currently has. If it has an AIR BOX then you will most likely need to upjet the Main Jet in the carb a couple of sizes to feed it more gas to match more air coming in otherwise it will run to lean. This is what I have on my Trike: Alleyoop

What is the wire right off of the carb?
I already did the jets.but thanks
PST150-7T and it does have an air box with an good sized donut paper air filter. Was going to remove box and maybe the hose as well.

That wire you see is for the ENRICHER(automatic choke). Is this what you have? Alleyoop

HAHAHA, Big difference from saying a "T" and a "7". But in any case if your going to take the AIR BOX off and put on a free flow you will have to up jet at least 2 size up. I would guess a 110 on the main jet would do you good and leave the Pilot Jet alone. Alleyoop

Since you do not know what jets are in there just order the 110 and put the free flow filter on otherwise you will be messing with it and not riding it. Alleyoop

I put on the K and N filter I had and love the improvements. I didnt do the jets and left everything intact. I wanted to see how it responded to my shadetree jet work.
I tried to put the CDI in but It doesn't look to fit an anywhere on the right side of the scoot?
