Update, drain all the gas out of tank change fuel filter, check spark plug, (no spark) had a spare, changed spark plug, still won't fire. sprayed some carb cleaner in carb. Fire right up. Fuel filter is full now and working good. Need to test drive it yet

going to work the other day, climbing a hill and it shuts off, drifted down hill to a local market, my scoot would no start no how, cranked it until battery went dead, called wife. she came and I jump scoot, but still no start, so got it towed home, next day notice my fuel filter was only half with gas (bottom half) so I drained gas think it was plug, changed fuel filter (the pic is the new one) check for spark and didn't seem to have any, changed spark plug, got spark, still no start until I sprayed cleaner in carb (diaphragm area) fired right up, so today test drove it, acting the same way, what the heck is going on? (JR told me to check diaphragm for tiny hole, check it, no holes. I'm just wondering if my fuel pump is going bad? here is pic of scooter running, my fuel filter isn't totally full, upper end goes to fuel pump, what do you think?

Will it stay running when riding on level ground and only dies going up a hill? At what point does it start to die at near wide open throttle or high rpms or when coming to stops or what. Alleyoop

Have you tried Seafoam in the tank? It sounds to me like either an electric glitch or crud in the system being stirred up and blocking jets, float needle or filter. You could try an experiment and run a piece of fuel line straight from the pump to the carb without the filter. That would tell you if the filter is causing restriction.

Hi Alleyoop, I'll answer you here too. There is a tall hill going out of town in Nanty Glo, if I can get over it most of the time I'm good, but I do have times at WOT it will choke, my set up concerning my fuel filter is this, hose from gas tank to fuel filter, hose from fuel filter to pump, hose from pump to carb, (not filter after pump) could that be the problem?

Put the Filter From PUMP to CARB, so that the pump gets all the gas it can from the TANK without any obstruction then the pump will pump it through the filter to the carb. Alleyoop

Alleyoop, How far from fuel pump do I install fuel filter? Another thing, the hose from the fuel pump goes under the engine and up to carb, Is that the right way to run that hose? (like always, thanks for your help)

I have my Filter On the way up like even with the Air Intake of the CVT so I can get to it easy and check it out once in a while. If I see it is getting black I change it or clean it out. So the Fuel Filter is about 1 foot away from the carb hanging down. Then from the Filter to the PUMP is about a 2 1/2 TWO FOOT run. The pump is in front on the bottom frame and it is about 1 1/2 feet of hose from the pump to the TANK. Alleyoop

My gas line come off in the bottom left front, then (whoever) mounted the pump on right front frame, so then hose goes under across from right to left to get to the carb. ok, that is where I'll place the fuel filter so I too can get to it (thanks).

My tank hose is also IN FRONT BOTTOM LEFT of the TANK AS YOU SIT on the scoot. Then you see the pump ON THE LEFT as well and a straight shot along the bottom rail then a curve up then the Fuel Filter then to the carb. Alleyoop

Should I move my fuel pump to the left side? (I don't know if there is a mount for it?) also I'm using 1/4 each fuel hose, is that good or should I be using another size smaller like yours?

My fuel hose is 1/4 as well that is fine. As for moving it to the LEFT side IF there is a HOLE handy or bolt with a nut why not. It would mean a shorter run and more of a straight shot to the carb.
Just Make sure the HOSE from the TANK TO THE PUMP is going DOWNHILL. Alleyoop

Yea going uphill a little to the pump is not good Don't forget it is just gravity from the tank to the pump. Alleyoop

Startng to tear down the scoot today, until I had to go to work. check it out last night, the way fuel line is now I cannot put fuel filter where I want it. Stop and pickup some new 1/4 inch fuel line, I'll finish tearing down tonight (hopefully) and maybe work on scoot Wednesday, I'll post pic as I go.
