Not to long ago I replace my intake manifold and been adjusting a/f ratio screw and it seem to be work but we are back to hard starts like it can't get gas and even when warmed up it take some cranking to start (enticher is good) the othe day clean air filter because it chokes and shuts off and the air filter was soak with rain, that seem to work for a day, today backing off throttle it boggs and shuts off, then it takes forever to start, tonight I going to replace fuel filter see if that's it, but I thinkling carb or fuel pump? Any Ideas??

When did you last adjust your valves? Vacuum leak or crud in the carburetor not to mention putting in a new spark plug for laughs.

the last valve adjustment probably 4,000 miles ago, at that time both seemed good, I've had this problem off and on since I've bought scoot, I'm going to change the fuel fillter tonght, last time I changed it was about a year ago. Could be crud in carb, never did clean it since I've bought it in 2010.

I'm totally against ever tearing a carb apart to clean it. If it were me, I'd check the valves, put in a double dose of Seafoam, change the plug and ride for about an hour straight. A little heat induced tune up does wonders.

thanks kz100st, I'm going to tear it down just make sure its not a vacuum leak and change that fuel filter, then check valves, then go from there.

Sounds more like the Valves is your problem. Tight valves cannot hold low idle and create hard starting.
When you let go of the throttle what happens is the butrerfly closes and your ACV Valve(that is the FLYING SAUCER shape piece attached to the top front side of your carb) shuts off the AIR FEED and allows fuel to be sucked in so it does not run lean with the sudden closeing of the butterfly. So also check the VACUUM line going to the ACV valve it may have come off or something. If it is on there and the Vacuum hose and connections are good THEN ADJUST your valves since it has been 4000 miles ago since you checked them they are due. Alleyoop

Hi Alleyoop, you know recently I got my a/f ratio screw adjusted and now it it chokes today just letting off gas it bagged if I turn throttkle quick enough it won't stall started until down the road a it choke and shut off. I'll check the valves. (I'll check those vacuum lines too.

Update: Today at work the scoot was on my mind trying to find the problem tonight as I was looking at my un-assembled scoot I notice that the carb wasn't setting level, fix that and in the process notice my ACV valve vacuum hose wasn't tight, fix that, also made the vacuum line longer from my y to the next y so it not so bent, then turn the key and she fired!!! Had my first ride yesterday, ran good but my scoot shut off like it wasn't getting gas got it started, took her home, when I was doing the valve adjustment I was going to replace the fuel filter but didn't, so after my problem monday Last night I changed the fuel filter (it was bad looking ) It I had 5,000 mile on that filter (not good) I think it was clogged, I had a spare, put the new filter on and she fired right up (yahoo) Got up this morning went out and my scoot started up one crank

Going to work yesterday on my scoot and it shut off, couldn't get it started, drain the battery. called wife, she came and I junped the scoot, but it just crank, crank, and crank, no started had to get it towed home, looked at it last night, check my fuel filter and noticed that the gas was on the bottom half of filter and wasn't reaching far enough to reach the other end of the hose to the fuel pump, I was low in gas, I'm going to get some on my way home tonight, got a fuel filter like alleyoop has, maybe have a piece of dirt in tank?
