left turn signal went out now right front headlight wants to work but the bike died while i was riding the other night and it tries to start is this more than likely a short in the cdi or what not sure how those little cheap electrical boxes function and is it possible to repair?

Better start over. what engine is it? does engine turn over? does it pop or make sounds like it is firing? does it have spark? is it getting fuel? does it have any compression? when were the valves adjusted last?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "headlight wants to work". Was it not working before and now it kinda is?
In regards to the turn signal, did you check the bulbs? Also, can you hear the clicking of the relay when you have the signals on? Does the emergency flasher work?
Don't stampede off and buy a CDI. No, they're not repairable. First, check the spark by holding the plug on a bare metal spot on the engine while cranking.
I'm afraid I have to agree with John, you need to provide more info for us to go on.

i have spark its a zongshen 125cc motor its getting fuel wants to start but seems electrical sometimes the left rear turn signal will work and now it wont bulbs are fine. the front right headlight always comes on when key is turn before starting now when its try to start its seems to flash some jolt of electricity to it. I have removed the 5 pin cdi and i get the same results so im puzzled if it could be more or if any of you have ever experienced this problem

I have never adjusted the valves it cranks has plenty of compression no popping what so ever as far as i can tell motor is tip top and have kept my maintanance up every 1500 miles it now has 6000 miles on it

On the right hand grip do you have a switch to turn on the lights and instrument panel lights. The light off and on switch may be on and that is why they come on. If they come on when you turn the key to on that means they are being feed by the Battery and that is why they dim when you hit the start button. The starter takes a lot of juice and will take away juice from the lights.
Are you sure the KILL SWITCH is on the run position and the sidestand is up just in case it also has the safety killswitch? Alleyoop

It almost sounds like your battery is to dead to start the bike or properly run the electronics. Could have a charging problem and ran your battery dead on the last right. Put it on a charger for a few hours and then see what happens. I bet everything will work normal until the bike kills it again.

First thing is to adjust your valves 6000 miles they are way overdue, adjust them both to .004 inchs. Since you say you have Spark and Fuel I question the Compression I would bet the exhaust valve is tight with 6000k and leaving it a little open. I also would question the fuel delivery but first adjust the valves then we can check out the fuel delivery. even hold the brake in when i turn the key lol... I am glad to hear you know enough to squeeze the brake to get juice to the Solenoid when attempting to start it. ;D But instead of wise cracks how about some Details on how and what you did or did not do to check for spark, fuel and compression. There is the right way and the wrong way to check for everything you say you checked. Alleyoop

the front right headlight always comes on when key is turn before starting If you have dual headlights and only one is coming on then either one is connected and the other one isn't, or you have a serious short. A possible spot would be on the ground of the non-working one (lightening bolt):
But considering how many other lights aren't working I doubt it isn't limited to just one short. Here's a generic 150cc diagram. It won't be exactly like your bike but in the ballpark:
now when its try to start its seems to flash some jolt of electricity to it. I'm sure the "jolt" is coming from a short when you hit the starter button. If you'll look on the diagram you'll see the black wire off of the ignition energizes many of the lights and the starter circuit through the brake lights. I'm thinking when you hit the starter you're getting a short to ground somewhere in the circuit.
I have removed the 5 pin cdi and i get the same results If you'll look on that diagram you will see the CDI up by the stator. Removing it isn't going to make a difference in the problem with the shorts. I think you are going to have to take some plastic off, a lot actually, and hunt down the short(s) visually and with a multimeter. If you don't know how to use a multimeter here's a guide for turn signal problems and about halfway through it shows how to use a multi. I would also check the emgine ground, the coil connectors, and coil ground.

If the front left turn signal works but the rear doesn't check the wires going to the turn signal bulb and see if it is receiving juice. If not then trace the wire back or check to make sure it is grounded. It could be ground wire that is bad as well but you can verify that by just getting a piece of wire and grounding it yourself and see if that is it. Alleyoop
