Please come like our page and join the group (two separate places... I'm trying to get more people into the group so everybody's post get equal "real estate"). It's just a way to get snapshots of what's going on in the scooter world--won't be a place like this where you can find solutions. Just a fun little quick thing if you're on Facebook anyway. Just to let you know face book is the stupidist idea yet. I would not go to face book if it was the last internet site out there and I am not the only one that thinks that way.

The big item between the 2 scootdawgs now is ownership of content. It seems the people who post own it from the way it looks. Check face book......they own it all. If some ones portrait shows up in a commercial ad that was taken off face book the ad people have to pay face book. Innocent women have ended up in porn ads....they do not even own their own pictures posted there. www.businessinsider.com/10-reasons-to-delete-your-facebook-account-2010-5

We're not concerned about ownership laws. Once we post our photos, there is sort of an unwritten rule and common knowledge that the privacy of that photo is essentially void and if you wanted to keep it private, you shouldn't have posted it. We're just having a little fun; some of us keep up with friends on FB so it's an easy way to keep a couple of fingers on the pulse of scooters, and this forum and any others are free to come recruit new members, too.

I also will not join face book or twitter. It is in the agreement that they write as to weather or not they own the content that you post. Also any content you post on photobucket becomes their property. This is why I will not post any personal photos on these sites. I just post photos that don't really matter to me. The big item between the 2 scootdawgs now is ownership of content. It seems the people who post own it from the way it looks. This is true I own the content that I post on proboard forums. Read the user agreement. The content that I posted on another forum was moved to another site. without my consent. I believe this move was for monetary gain for the parties involved. I have requested that they delete the content of my posts and so far they have ignored me. I logged into the other forum for the sole purpose of deleting my content. I was about half way through and the edit/delete button was removed to stop me from deleting the rest of the content that belongs to me. I already have consulted with my attorney on this matter and he will get back to me with my legal options. In the mean time I have deleted all my posts at scootdawg.proboards.com and deleted my account there. I am not sure what proboards is doing about this. But I think they will leave it up to the user. I do not like people that think they can do as they wish with other peoples property. I am not looking to gain any money out of this, as a mater of fact it will cost me a small fortune in legal fees. But the parties that were involved with this are probably counting on the fact that most people won't care and the ones that do will not pay for legal channels against them. They are wrong I will pursue them to the fullest of my ability. Just for the principle of the matter. Sorry for ranting here. I will step off my soapbox now. Roy

Roy I don't think you were on a soap box for a second , you feel the way you feel and it is your right . Being vocal about it I see no problem . If people feel different they should look elsewhere . I would encourage you to continue posting on the fourms of your choice . I'm not a know it all and have learned from your postings and work you have done . I would like to belive that I have contributed to some of your work . I look foward to seeing future posts . John

I use it regularly to keep in touch with people. If somebody wants to use my pictures or stuff, who cares? "Who steals my purse steals trash.

Anything you post on Photobucket, Facebook, or Twitter belongs to Photobucket, Facebook, or Twitter. I don't have a problem with that, nobody provides a "free service", there's always a payback. Proboards hosts this site without charging a fee and makes money on the Google ads. They also own the content so you can't pick up your forum and move it to a new server to make some bucks. The guys at SD either didn't read the agreement or chose to ignore it. Same with FB and Twitter, you post for free, they make money off of ads and will sell any content they choose to. Proboards will probably try to make an example out of SD since it was such an egregious violation of the agreement. They are really nice people, I've talked to them several times and they are helpful and cordial. They also play hardball just like FB and Twitter.
