i dont know where i do or not rich i was told that a performance cdi had a hotter spark when engine was cold and help it start better i dont know anything about elec.stuff.i dont think that the problem .i think its still in the carb.do you know what a flat side carb. is and what the differance is are they better or what bo

I don't think you need a CDI, (If you do, I have a spare CDI) I still think your problem is the air/fuel mixture ratio screw is not set right. I don't know about that carb, I don't think it could be used on your scoot, (but Alleyoop would know) I using a plug NGK R D7EA Spark Plug,(I think thats the number, I can check when I go home) supose to have a hotter spark, working good for me.

Flat side carb is one that has the throttle going down into the top of the carb and the throttle cable actually is hooked up to the Slide itself. Those carbs are real finicky because any little movement of the throttle grip raises or lowers the needle. Those are good for quick revving motors like your hotrods at the dragstrip.
Stick with a CVK carb which work with air pressure and work good for your cruising scoots. my .02 cents Alleyoop

thanks alley i will,i was just wondering what a flatside was listing to the folk talk about them.they are like the mikuni i guess. yes rich that what i got in mine same number.to cold today 16 this morn to ride ill work on the old kobota rideing mower some more.i cant aford to work on it .i thought i needed a starter drive(bendix) but when i found out they were 91.00 i went to the weilding shop got so hard surface rods weild (build) and grond them down.i need to build up my cutting edge on my blade any way.kill 2 birds with one rock ha ha bo
