I have run it down to be a Shenke Motors Nemo-250. It is pretty much the same as a Jonway. I have looked it over and found that the ignition switch has been removed (noticed this at dark). The seat lock is missing as well. The only keyhole is what I think is the gas tank enclosure. The cowling is broken, the windshield is missing. It has about 620 miles on the odometer. It is a 2008 model. I need front blinkers, bulbs, etc., but before I get into trying much else, I want to see how someone started this. I don't know if it was "hot-wired", or what. I just know nothing about them at all. There is no Haynes manuals for these, I can't find body parts online. It is a project that may have me asking a bunch of questions. I will try to post a picture of two if I am not laughed out of the forum. It was really cheap, so my cost is minimal. Thanks.

Cookees could help you out if he wanted but he has this thing against anybody named hump....go figure. With Chinese scooters you don't have to nail it down to specifics such as 'Shenke Motors" and a certain model. As Cruiser (hey man) said all you need to know is that it's a YY250T which is a Reflex clone with the vertical engine. There's also Reflex clones with a horizontal engine. Just search YY250T parts and you'll see a bunch of dealers. Also, click on the banners at the top of the site and you'll see some of our banner sponsors sell YY250T parts.

This may be way above my level of money wasting. Not being able to find schematics or manuals, I am not sure how this thing disassembles. The seat is locked down. The keyhole is empty by the seat. The ignition switch freely fell into the cavity near the forks. I would love to fix and ride, but with all the damage, this may be scrap material.

Just take it I piece at a time. Also there are some books out on general chinese stuff, hayns is one. If you study the parts layouts you should be able to figure out the order of dis-assembly. lock sets are available with both locks and would probably best to just buy them and get it over with.

I got the seat opened. I put a jump box on the battery and the fan sound came on. The electric start does nothing. I'm getting somewhere, but not sure about the electric start.

Here's the deal, that's a clone of the Honda Reflex scooter. These come with a horizontal Linhai engine or like yours, the vertical CF Moto 244cc clone of the original Honda engine. So for the body work, and most everything else but the engine, use the old Reflex manual. For the engine, switch to the Honda 244cc engine service manual or the CF Moto service manual. The Reflex wiring in the original manual will not apply, it's dumbed down for the clones. So I drew up some Reflex wiring diagrams based on info bumping around the web. They're not perfect but they're pretty close. You'll want to use the second one, the YY250T. You can trace the starting mechanism back from the solenoid to the starter button, it's not rocket science. I'm going to move part of this thread over to 250 since it's turning into a technical issue.

Yep and the wiring is hosed the fan should not come on just by jumping the battery. So someone hardwired it, did you pull the brakes and see if the taillights come on if so try the start button while pulling on the brakes try both brakes one could be bad to see if it sends juice to the solenoid. You can also put the jumper on tape the brake handles and TEST THE GREEN AND YELLOW wire going into the SOLENOID and see if it is getting voltage. If not then no juice is getting to the SOLENOID to send the juice to the starter.
Also check the FUSES if its the VERTICAL MOTOR HELIX is has a 15a fuse on the red wire coming off the battery and it has a FUSE BOX with about 4 fuses.
If its the LINHAI motor it has a 20AMP fuse built into the SOLENOID and those do not have a FUSE BOX. If that 20amp fuse is blown you have nothing.

A lot of scooters that end up in salvage were stolen and when recovered the insurance totals them. That would explain keys, ign sw. & locks and strange things happening when you put a battery to it.

I have run the vehicle history. It wasn't stolen, but I think it may have been traded for illicit drugs. I have checked the fuses, they are all good. I am no mechanic, but I will have to find out if there is power at the starter...

Hump, To see if the Battery is connected good to the Solenoid and is Connected good to the starter do this.
Jump the two terminals on the SOLENOID if the battery is good it should spin the starter.
That will only VERIFY that all is connected good at that point, DOES NOT MEAN the Solenoid is getting Voltage from the Brake switch and or Voltage is getting to the ignition which in turn send voltage to the switchs. Alleyoop
