Hi. I am new to the forum and to reverse trikes. I bought a "project" 50cc reverse trike yesterday hopefully to gain experience in fixing one. The problem is that the "center hub" that holds the wheel in place is missing, and I don't what parts to get or how to figure out the part(s) needed. Any advice and guidance would be much appreciated. The reverse trike is a 2011 Donfang 50cc model DF50TKA. Many thanks, Patrick Attachments:

Thank you so much for the link, new2scootn! OMG! What svitza did i get myself into? Furthermore, with my limited selection of tools, i got no play. I'm getting new tools (socket wrench set). What other tools (specific measurements & types) do I also need? I re-check the wheel and it seems to be missing a wheel bearing, a carter pin and a wheel dust cover. Of course if I was going to replace wheel bearing, i would like to replace all three. Would that be a waste of time & money? Thanks, Patrick

In California the only place I can find parts for this is at the dealership.
I have an alignment issue and now my steering stem broke. Neither one looks too difficult to fix.

here in arizona, we avoid the dealership, the first place we go to for parts is the salvage depot, a place where there are tons of wrecked cars and motorcycles. just bring your old parts and theyll be the one to look it up for you. and theyll also buy the old parts from you or taken out from the cost of the part youre buying.
i cant believe that steering stem broke apart pepe, that should be made from high tensil hard steel. im pretty sure that isnt a jap car. ahhhhrggg!! the chinese strikes again, i cant take it anymore, im gonna call jimrapid

Sad but true, reverse trike parts are not easy to get your hands on. Sunnysports is the only place I know of. Ice Bear does not deal in reverse trikes anymore. here in arizona, we avoid the dealership, the first place we go to for parts is the salvage depot, a place where there are tons of wrecked cars and motorcycles. just bring your old parts and theyll be the one to look it up for you. and theyll also buy the old parts from you or taken out from the cost of the part youre buying. i cant believe that steering stem broke apart pepe, that should be made from high tensil hard steel. im pretty sure that isnt a jap car. ahhhhrggg!! the chinese strikes again, i cant take it anymore, im gonna call jimrapid Let's get the name right RapidJim. While we are at it Luke, why won't you answer my questions from here scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=talk&thread=8163&page=2#65177Jim

I replaced the steering stem, but the gimbal (piece with u joints) doesn't fully attach at both the top & bottom making the handlebars jiggle. It appears to be too short by about a 1/4".
The bolts I removed to fix it got damaged (made of a soft metal) so I replaced them with hex bolts from the local home improvement store.
The design of the steering is flawed. I have a 2011 model. I don't recommend the independent suspension design. Bumpy roads cause both wheels to bounce separately in different directions forcing me to slow down. I saw someone riding a reverse trike with front wheels close together. it was more stable & could handle higher speeds with no trouble. Too bad I couldn't catch up to ask about it.
