I was wondering if any autparts stores or mower/tractor stores that sell/stock a compatible belt for the long case gy6 835-20-30 belt. My scooter is my only transportation so i am not able to pull mine off and try to go match it with the looks of another. Thanks

How many bolts hold the cvt cover on ? I have both size belts for the 150cc's here in NY if your on the east coast You would get it Monday . I doubt an auto parts store will get it any sooner . John

The LENGTH=835mm, the WIDTH=20mm, the Angle=30 degrees. If not why not just order from one of the scooter dealers TVNACMAN has them as well as many others. Alleyoop

John What does not JIVE JOHN, most of the long case motors come with a 835-20-30, you have two types of LONG CASE motors one motor is a little longer due to the scoot having 16" wheels. But all the others have 12-13 inch wheels which take the long case motor. The 842 belt will also work, but like I said most 12-13 inch wheeled scoots they put on a 835 belt. Alleyoop

What you have to do is find the Gates part number. The 743-20-30 for instance is PL30707. If you can find a picture on some online seller it may have the Gates number on it. If you have to order from NAPA you'll find Scooterbelts.com is actually cheaper even with shipping. Been there. Although partsforscooters.com is high on my list.

Once again you don't know what you are talking about. I have gotten Gates Powerlink Belts for scooters and ATVs from both NAPA and O'Reillys in the past when I have run out and needed by the next day. A Gates Powerlink belt is the same belt no matter who you buy it from. Jim

I put the 835 on, but it was pretty hard to get on. Since its alot tighter, would i have better low end? Will the belt not climb the drive pulley all the way?

Back when PhilR had his Carino he talked to John at GS Motorworks. John told him the best tuning trick for the long case GY6 Carino was installing an 842 instead of an 835. The 842 gave more top end. The 835 was installed on the Carinos to keep the top end down for safety since it did not reach the highest part of the variator. Phil put the 842 on and noticed a few mph more in his top speed.
