Looking to see what people are running on their stock 50's. Rider weight has to effect weight size to some extent.
im 250 and run 4.5 grams. I think its a little light since my rpms max at 8600. Im going top try mixing 5 and 6s to get 5.5 or just try 5's. I think i may need 6s to get me a tad bit under 8000.

The sliders, they are integral with the centrifugal clutch? Trying to understand. What do the stock sliders weigh?

could be anything. If you havent weighed them you wont know unless you have installed aftermarket sliders/rollers.
I just replaced mine with 5gram sliders and my max rpm is 7850 now.

I weigh 225 and went from 6 gram rollers stock to 4 grams. Now my RPM's top out at around 7200 RPM.

Wow. What were your rpms with the 6s?? So your stuck. You cant go any lower say to get yours rpms up to 8000 now? So you are just below the powerband of 7500.

No the sliders are in the variator on the crankshaft. You can only change clutch engagement with heavier or lighter contra springs.

Before I changed my rollers I was only able to top out at about 6000 RPM's unless I was going down hill. I picked this one up a couple of years ago for $165.00. It had a rough life with it's previous owners. The compression isn't as high as I would like it to be but it always starts and runs. I suppose if I wanted to I could try removing every other weight. Try it with tree 6 gram weights in the variator. That would give me a total of 18 grams as opposed to the 24 grams in there now.

Also I don't think any one mentioned that sliders are a after market part and not OEM.
As long as you keep the variator balanced you can put all kinds of combinations in it to get the rpms where you want it.
as far as weight goes, the more you weigh the more horse power it is going to take to get the roms up and the speed up. There is no way possible for a heavy guy to get the same speeds out of an identical scooter that a 110lb kid gets. UNLESS you increase hp.

gatekeeper -You could try a different transmission pulley counter spring in the rear pulley. My brain is too tired tonight to figure out if you would need a lighter or heavier spring.

I have a question in my original thread about reuse of the carb bowl gasket.
