Hey all! Just wanted to start a discussion of opinions (and knowledge) of which BBK kits out there are the best in build quality and reliability? I had a BBK on my SSR Verona but I recently seized the motor, so I had to put my scoot back to stock. I had a NCY 61mm BBK paired up with a cheap 62mm valve head which also could of played a part in it also. But man, let me tell ya... SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN POWER. So please, drop some knowledge. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks... and go. ;D

I would just swap, I thought about spending the money on a bbk, BUT I decided I wanted to upgrade a 157 engine instead... :/
Sorry I can't give an opinion on the best BBK, but depending on your budget, SWAP iT!
Good Luck with your decision!

I recently installed a 60mm BBK with matching big port/valve head. This combo also raises the compression so that a HD starter was required. I coupled the BBK with an OKO 28mm flatside carb A10 cam, and of course free flow exhaust and air filter. What a power house! All this is on a Ruckus clone which is a pretty light scoot. Couldnt be happier with the results. These parts are high quality Tiawanese from Scooter Elements in PR. Knowledgeable people to deal with! Most all my scoot parts come from them.

Thanks for the feedback! I've been eyeing the Taida 61mm forged kit that ScooterElements has available. It comes with the large port valve head, camshaft, and cylinder, plus a forged piston.

What's the build quality on that kit? Where was that particular kit manufactured?

I'm shopping myself right now for a 63mm kit. I see NCY, Hoca and Naraku. The piston with the NCY kit looks like a JE style. The pistons from the Naraku and Hoca kits look to be crude castings. The forging is a novelty, may be a boat anchor forge, if so would require extra piston to cylinder clearance. anybody with experience with any of these mfg's please chime in

The BBK is from China . I understand some parts get shipped from China to other countries relabeled and stamped made in ? (not China ) . Then get sold for a higher price . Because they are not stamped made in China .

Or does your supplier have these answers?
