The longer should allow for a lower ratio on the bottom end. My Dr Pulley vari came with three shims to get the same effect. The shorter will up the low ratio. May or may not be critical. I replaced my belt with a longer version which allowed a lower ratio by the belt riding higher in the rear sheave. The lower ratio is very nice in traffic. You can add shims if necessary.

I have to admit I am totally into the Ruckus thing, kinda by accident. When I bought my scoot a Ruckus clone, I didn't even know the Ruckus existed. I bought the clone because of the lack of body work/easy access thing. I saw a modded Ruck on he road and it clicked what I had bought. While the clone aint an exact copy, a lot of the parts interchange. Also its a 150cc from the get go. And at $699 not a bad deal. Its highly modified now and quite quick for a scoot. With all the speed stuff I have dumped into it and the wheel upgrade I still have less in it than most used Rucks sell for. I realize it not Honda quality, but the GY6 has been copied for so long its pretty bullet proof now. I sure have run the crap out of it with no issues. Im in the same point in time as KZ, I have a new Kawi KLE 650 set up for touring gathering dust in the garage. The scoots just too much fun and too easy to take.
BTW bought the T shirt on the spot from the parts link, just too cool!

It needs to be free enough to easily flop around. Mine were moveable but binding. Now I always check the operation before I head out by shaking the scoot from side to side and watch for needle movement. I came in on fumes before I figured out I had a sending unit issue, it was indicating a half tank. My wifes was indicating nearly full, guess she thought she was getting about 250mi/gallon-lol.

Remove the sending unit and see if the float swings freely. Both ours "locked" due to swelling of the plastic where the float shaft goes through the unit, presumably due to ethanol in the fuel. The fix was to simply pry the press on nut on the float shaft further away from the units body. Have had no further issues.

I ordered a 15/37 gear set for a 2.46 final. I'm already two tire sizes larger than was stock so figure this is a good set to relax the cruise a bit and still have fairly good bottom end left. The 842 belt worked perfectly, finally reaching the entire diameter of the vari. Also allowed the rear sheave to close more giving a noticeable lower ratio on take off.

Pretty much got used to its quirky handling characteristics and will leave it in place. Thanks for your interest though.

Thanks for your input Alley. The 16/37 set is what I had my eye on. That's coming down .7 of a point numerically, may consider a set with more of a .5 drop. I ride only on the coastal flats so hill climbing(except bridges) isn't an issue. What are your thoughts?
BTW am replacing my 835/20 belt with an 842/20. Was not getting the last 4-5mm of my 115mm vari. The rear sheave also is held somewhat open by the 835, hoping to also get a lower ratio on the bottom end with the 842 belt. Ever tried this?

Anybody got a clue as to the stock gearing on a 150cc long case scoot with 12" wheels? Would like to raise the ratio(lower numerically) but don't want to tear the scoot down and have it out of service while the new gear set is in transit.

Got tired of the miserable level bars in my tank, can filling was the only way to avoid a mess. They twisted out quite easily with a pair of large needle nose pliers. Now filling while away from home and the gas can is an easy task Filling to the bottom of the neck causes no problems.

I would guess the 2 horsepower ratings are max output and a rating for continuous usage. Several of the Lifan engines I have used were rated this way. When twisted to the max rating you have that HP available for short term usage.

Stock face is 3.5...oldscoot how long ago did you order? You wont have a problem with your order. I have bought several things from him before with no issues. He sent rollers the first time for a 150cc instead of the listed 50cc rollers. At first he wouldn't take them back saying I had ordered the wrong thing. I sent pics proving it was his mistake and he relented on the return. Its been over 10days since he received the return and I haven't received either the correct rollers or an answer to my inquires as to the where abouts. Not great customer service! I think the ramp profiles are different from the stock variator. At the very least its a nicer machined part.
