FUN!!!! Another good read KZ,,,In the piece he says it's just plain fun to ride them,,and this is how i feel also,,i've had the hi zoot stuff as well and there's nothing like riding an inexpensive big wheel bike or scooter that you got a deal on,,,,it's just plain oldie fun!!!

Yeah, it's why I've settled down to a 250cc as my main ride. It was fun having 1000cc of bike but these days I just don't need it. My 500 mile days are over and when I need the feel of a motorcycle I have the 50cc bike to have fun with.
The Ruckus is a cute little ride. What I find hysterical is that ditching the Japanese motor and strapping on a Chinese GY6 150cc is the hot set up. It makes you wonder how bad a Chinese engine can be if a lot of people are doing it.

I looked at the rukus/rowdy,,and could't justify the honda because of the buy in costs,,,i do like the naked theme,,and one of the bugaboos i have with the vespa being a monocoque,,service is going to be a pain,,,maybe i'll find a rukus with a blown mill,,,i've already been offered over $3000 for the et4 and i'm not even riding it yet,,and yes i've noticed the hotrod aftermarket is absolutely alive for the gy6 engine,,,all options are on the table and i have no loyalty to any one brand thank goodness,,,

I have to admit I am totally into the Ruckus thing, kinda by accident. When I bought my scoot a Ruckus clone, I didn't even know the Ruckus existed. I bought the clone because of the lack of body work/easy access thing. I saw a modded Ruck on he road and it clicked what I had bought. While the clone aint an exact copy, a lot of the parts interchange. Also its a 150cc from the get go. And at $699 not a bad deal. Its highly modified now and quite quick for a scoot. With all the speed stuff I have dumped into it and the wheel upgrade I still have less in it than most used Rucks sell for. I realize it not Honda quality, but the GY6 has been copied for so long its pretty bullet proof now. I sure have run the crap out of it with no issues. Im in the same point in time as KZ, I have a new Kawi KLE 650 set up for touring gathering dust in the garage. The scoots just too much fun and too easy to take.
BTW bought the T shirt on the spot from the parts link, just too cool!

hahaha, funny, i started that low, naked scoot back in Asia, 15years ago, a young senator saw me riding it and bought it from me triple the price, i can't resist. it was a naked, modified Honda Sky 2 stroke that i did,, i didn't do any mods on the engine, all on aesthetics. he then took it apart and brought it to the US, rode it in vermont and a Honda mechanic saw him riding it, talk to him and eventually took an idea out of it...now it's all over US...i saw a lot of those in San Diego! and East L.A...
God i'm proud of myself....
i can die now....zzzzzzzzzz!

yeah, the idea was stolen from me. i couldve invented a much better looks of a scooter than just ruckus.... i find the original design of ruckus so dork looking. i design my own scoots, not just ride them. like some people i know , just slouch in their trike and comb their beard. lol
