I'm shopping myself right now for a 63mm kit. I see NCY, Hoca and Naraku. The piston with the NCY kit looks like a JE style. The pistons from the Naraku and Hoca kits look to be crude castings. The forging is a novelty, may be a boat anchor forge, if so would require extra piston to cylinder clearance. anybody with experience with any of these mfg's please chime in Thanks for that info, and yes... others please chime in! Need more input (like Johnny 5) ;D

I would just swap, I thought about spending the money on a bbk, BUT I decided I wanted to upgrade a 157 engine instead... :/ Sorry I can't give an opinion on the best BBK, but depending on your budget, SWAP iT! Good Luck with your decision! Thanks for the feedback! I think you were assuming that I had a 50cc scoot? I actually have a 157qmj already, just trying to figure out the best enhancements for it

What's the build quality on that kit? Where was that particular kit manufactured?

I recently installed a 60mm BBK with matching big port/valve head. This combo also raises the compression so that a HD starter was required. I coupled the BBK with an OKO 28mm flatside carb A10 cam, and of course free flow exhaust and air filter. What a power house! All this is on a Ruckus clone which is a pretty light scoot. Couldnt be happier with the results. These parts are high quality Tiawanese from Scooter Elements in PR. Knowledgeable people to deal with! Most all my scoot parts come from them. Thanks for the feedback! I've been eyeing the Taida 61mm forged kit that ScooterElements has available. It comes with the large port valve head, camshaft, and cylinder, plus a forged piston.

Hey all! Just wanted to start a discussion of opinions (and knowledge) of which BBK kits out there are the best in build quality and reliability? I had a BBK on my SSR Verona but I recently seized the motor, so I had to put my scoot back to stock. I had a NCY 61mm BBK paired up with a cheap 62mm valve head which also could of played a part in it also. But man, let me tell ya... SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN POWER. So please, drop some knowledge. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks... and go. ;D

How's the suspension on yours; do you find it quite crashy? I'd say it's one of the let downs on my Znen. I'm not sure I'd feel safe on mine at 60mph, even though I wish it would cruise at that speed. It would be so useful here in the UK. Also, do you find you get a bit of vibration at around 50mph from the belt area? Finally, with your mods did you manage to get a tachometer so you can see what revs it is doing etc for tuning the drive? A tach is an upgrade that I want to do next because I do need to know what the revs are at to fine tune it more. The suspension is a bit soft, I'll agree with you on that one, and I also feel the vibrating from the belt area also... no idea why. That's something to definitely look into.

Been drooling over that scooter since you posted its picture. It would be a shame for me to ride one like it around here with the dirt roads I have to go on to get from house to the highway to town. Thank you for the kind words! I constantly have people stopping me and asking me about it, so I must have done something right! haha

That's lovely! You've done a really good job there. Have a look at my pictures in one of the other threads. (I didn't bother getting my SLR out for them though, sorry). I have a scooter called a Sinnis Spirit which is another rebranded ZNEN classic style so very similar to yours. However it's a 125 being from the UK. I'd like mine to go a little faster. It will cruise at 45mph, but the drive train seems to vibrate a little after 50mph. Feels like the gearing needs changing. Thank you for the compliments! Yours looks great also.

This is my first post here. That's a great looking scooter. I have a lot to learn about all the mods and things. Your scooter looks just like the one I got my wife. Here's is red and white but you have a more retro look. What is a "NCY 170cc BBK"? I say again GREAT looking ride! Thanks for the kind words! You should post some pictures of your scoots. To answer your question, BBK stands for Big Bore Kit so I swapped out my stock top end for a larger piston and bigger intake and exhaust ports to bump my CC's to somewhere around 170cc. ;D And let me tell ya... the scoot is now alive after doing that!

Hey all! ;D Just wanted to share a couple of pics of my ALMOST completed 2012 SSR Verona aka the Znen Classic ZN150T-E. Here is a list of the modifications that I have done so far: • NCY 170cc BBK • Taiwanese 62mm head • Performance CDI • NGK Iridium Plug • Performance Spark Plug Wire • Custom Cold Air Intake • Uni Foam Filter • EGR Blockoff • Oko 30mm CVK Carb • Gates CVT Belt • Plasti-dipped Wheels • Prima Whitewalls (100/90-10) Things I still want to modify: • Complete handlebar setup (superbar conversion) • 10x7 Fatty Tire Setup • Custom exhaust • Complete CVT upgrade and here are some pics: So with the mods I have done so far I can maintain a speed of 60-65mph at WOT, and about 45-50mph comfortably depending on the terrain. I love the looks that I get from people on the road when they see a retro scoot fly by them! I'd love to here what you all think. Let me know!

Its a honda metropolitan I believe. Both honda metropolitans and the ruckus are common weapons of choice for the "stretched and dropped" look as of late. If I had it my way, I would have one of each PLUS my retro chinese scoot! ;D

Looks like they're just releasing a stretched version of a ruckus clone. How much are these going for?
