Boy, that Burgman 200 sure looks nice to me. (I clicked a couple links in the article). It really doesn't stand out in any catagory but seems real good in all of them. Top speed of 75 mph, 68 mpg, low weight (for a "maxi style" scooter), larger wheels for stability and quality. Now does any body out there have a measly $5500 laying around they could send my way?

All fine and dandy a quality scoot but what the heck is wrong with these people that they cant make an attractive looking scoot? Every Honda ive seen looks like a Generic Dodge Omni!
Are they afraid that if they produce a good looking scoot they'll be considered a Chinese clone??

Probably. It amazes me how "Me Too" most Japanese scooters are. They seem to all be stuck in the Reflex lookalike mode. At least Kymco, SYM and CF Moto made their 250/300s stand out in a crowd.
I just can't believe how expensive they are. $3000 or so for a 50cc. You guys seem to be doing alright for under a grand and as far as I'm concerned 30-35 mph is the same whether you're on a Vespa or Tao Tao.

I agree...and yes, most of us could afford to buy one of these but we simply ask ourselves, why? Indeed, these are more than adequate for what we use them for. Its no different than shopping at walmart vs Bloomingdales.

japanese and chinese scooter designers should come up with new futuristic designs in scooters, monotony is boring!
