That's a great story. It only shows if you don't flog them, change the oil once in a while and do some maintenance how long all our scooters will last. I'm looking forward to writing my "10 Years of China Scootin" in five more years. It will be epic.

If I keep going the way I have been, I'll have 10k miles on mine by this time next year.

Ran my first one to death in about 2 months riding 2 up on it all over the island. It was a 150. It's now got a rebuilt engine and is for sale if anyone wants to finish putting it back together.

I can definitely envision getting 10 years or more from this one.

I can see me pouring gas on mine and using it to toast marshmallows. I was on my way home tonight with the wife when it died. Radiator leak! ARGHHHH! This frickin thing is trying to nickle and dime me to death!
I did get my parts order today though. New ignition switch with all new locks and keys, wire connector kit and a new set of front forks. My new lights should be here in a day or two.

I can only wish that the internals stay in one piece and the wiring remains good. The other stuff is to be expected. Thats why zi have not modded my BMS so i can get the most life out of it. Stepping from a modded 50 to one thats unmodded doesnt take long to get used to. You have the knowledge that you havent begun the death dance right out of the gate by adding items that contribute to a motors slow death.

i guess he hasn't experienced any of the classic chinese scooter malfunctions yet: carb not tuned, stuck float, broken turn signals, wiring issue, fried starter, fried stator,,,just to name a few.lol ;D....he'll get there for sure...lol guys, i bought my morph on 2008 with 7kmiles on the ODO...20k miles later,,it still runs perfect!! i got 27k miles now.. sweet! ---------------------no issues----------------------- uhm, kz??? the floor is yours!

I'm sorry, did you say something? Oh, yes. more FUD, I'm guessing using my intuition that if he hasn't had those problems yet that he hasn't got them coming. I know you think that 27,000 miles is a lot, but it isn't. You have no clue the problems you have waiting for you at 60, 70 and 80,000 miles. Been there Luke, unlike you, and I can tell you that your Morphous will be no better at those miles than a SunL 50cc scooter.
In the meantime try to be a little humbled. His inexpensive Asian scooter is four years older than yours and is still running just fine.

LOL!,, 40,000miles in a chinese scooter is not really 40K,,since chinese odos are very inacurate, and the actual reading is 3x advanced....so with all actuality that 40K would only be 13k+-.... been there, experienced that!! as they say..cant fool me,,lol
if you want to ask about my secret, i guess the 20% lucas stabilizer helps a lot in the smoothness of the ride and it makes the engine a lot cooler by minimizing too much friction. try it guys...oil is not enough!! if you plan to contradict my statement,it should be backed by facts in black and white or pdf

Oh, and Luke, I'm sure you didn't bother to read this far.
This year I swapped the motor into a used RUCKUS frame that did not have a motor. The 125cc is still original and running strong and healthy.
Installing a GY6 motor into a Ruckus is a very popular upgrade for Ruckus owners. So the engine must be darn good if they scrap those Honda engines as often as it seems. Plus I'm hoping he doesn't have the problems you just described. Repairing the electrical system on a Japanese frame is darn expensive.

My scooter trike runs great. Only problem I had so far was not letting it warm up long enough and then taking it on the highway in 30 F weather. Had it running at with throttle wide open. But the engine cooled to quikely and flooded on a hill. Pulled over and waited 5 and resarted, let it warm to 3 bars and it drove fine at 70-75 mph on Pa's interstate 83. My oil change is coming up and I am now well past my break in. If Penn-dot would not keep messing the roads up would be cool. I think it is great that you are getting so much use out of your scooter. I thought about getting my kids each a small 50cc or 100-150cc each for their first vehicle. Wade

Luke as far as I remember the odometer on my 150cc gy6 was right on and the speed was optimistic by 5mph at 55mph. on the other hand the jap riva was just as bad so maybe the chinese copied the mistakes the japs made on the '83 riva....you think?
The chances are slim to non that I will ever buy any more jap transportation. I been burned out with yamaha and that damn majesty waiting for parts that the japs get from china for it.
